This is my Entry for @-cafecat- 's DTA. Specifically- The character Till! Check out MY DTA!!: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1148472933/ ~Lore~ Till was the kind of girl you couldn’t help but notice. She was 16, and though she wasn’t the loudest person in the room, there was a certain vibrancy about her that made her impossible to miss. Her hair, a bright and almost magical shade of green, was always tied in a messy ponytail that seemed to bounce with every step she took. People often joked that her hair was the color of fresh spring leaves, and Till loved that comparison—after all, she was all about growth, both in her garden and in herself. Gardening was Till’s thing. Not the kind of gardening where you just plant a few flowers in the backyard and call it a day. No, Till was dedicated. She had an entire plot of land in her grandmother’s backyard that she’d turned into her own little sanctuary. It wasn’t just about the plants; it was about connection. Every morning, she’d pull on her worn-out sneakers, grab her gardening gloves (the ones with little dirt stains from last summer’s harvest), and head out to the garden before the sun even had a chance to peek over the horizon. She had a special bond with the soil. It wasn’t just about getting her hands dirty; it was about feeling the earth, the pulse of nature, beneath her fingers. She could almost hear the plants whispering, telling her when they needed water or when they were ready to bloom. Some of her friends thought she was a little weird, but to Till, the garden was the most honest place in the world. Everything there had a purpose, and nothing was ever judged for being too small or too imperfect. Her friends loved her, though. They admired her for her easygoing nature and the way she could make anything fun. She had this natural charm—like she could make pulling weeds or planting tomatoes feel like an adventure. Whenever they had lunch together at school, she’d pull out her little plastic container full of baby carrots or cucumbers she’d grown herself, offering them with a grin. "Fresh from the garden!" she’d say, as if it were some secret she was sharing. Despite her effortless charm, Till wasn’t without her own quiet struggles. She wasn’t perfect, and sometimes, things in her life felt just a little too heavy. The garden was her escape, her safe space where she didn’t have to be anything other than herself. Sometimes, when she was feeling down, she'd sit on the soft grass, close her eyes, and let the sound of the wind through the trees calm her mind. It wasn’t about the plants then; it was just about being still and letting the world do its thing while she did hers. One afternoon, as the last rays of sunlight flickered through the leaves, Till had a moment where she realized just how much she’d grown over the past year—literally and figuratively. The plants in her garden were thriving, their roots deep in the soil, their leaves lush and full of life. But Till was thriving too. She had made it through challenges she’d never thought she could face, and just like the flowers that had bloomed after a harsh winter, she was learning how to stand tall, even when things felt uncertain. It was the end of a long day when Till stood up from her gardening bench, her green ponytail swishing behind her, a smile on her face as she admired the fruits of her labor. The evening light bathed everything in a golden glow. She took a deep breath, feeling proud. Her garden wasn’t just a reflection of her love for nature; it was a reminder that, just like the plants she nurtured, she too had the strength to grow, no matter what came her way. And with that, Till picked a few of her favorite blooms and headed inside, knowing that tomorrow, the garden would be waiting—just as it always had.
All art is done in Scratch (ON A CHROMEBOOK) Help, I can't afford art programs. Clarification (Because I've gotten comments on it): I find shading in Scratch difficult, so I use different mediums. I do this in regular art pieces, too. (Traditional, that is). This causes my art to appear like a 'blockshade' though it is just done by repetitive adding of colors Hope this clears up any confusion!
