This is all bird art from my sketchbook this year in chronological order (except for 0, that's just to compare to 15) 0: This was at place 16 but I changed it to be in the front for chronological order haha. I made this some time between Dec 25th and Jan 1st, but I forget the exact date. I included it to compare to the parrot I painted a few days ago to see my progress. I'll put those notes on that piece. 1: Step by step process from the Law's Guide to Drawing Birds 2: Same as 1, I should follow those steps again for review 3. Feather groups of birds! All birds have these feathers, the thing that changes is the proportions! Feather patterns would be so much harder to draw without knowing these because so many patterns follow specific groupings. 4. Gift for @MeadowFoot_ToPH 5. Skull diagram, less useful imo, but still was fun to make. I have the feather groups memorized but not these. 6. No notes 7: I LOVE this one!! Ugh they're just so silly and expressive. These are one of my friends birds. 8. Humming bird! Expirementing with unnatural colors. 9. No notes 10. No notes 11. I posted this one already but for consistency's sake included it again. 12. I painted using the same reference twice, this was the second time and I have improved a lot. I didn't include the original but I should have lol. 13. My actual favorite of all of them. Herons are soooo cool looking. Literal dinosaurs. They make dinosaur sounds. I love them. This one had so many color in it's beak and such a fun neck shape. 14. Crow (No idea when I drew this one lol. After feb 2nd tho) 15. Most recent bird! Drew this while flying, didn't have time to smooth out the background. I posted this mostly to compare this and the first parrot. I think my general understanding of bird anatomy and 3Dness has gotten WAY better. I generally know what feathers go where, how to draw them etc. The wings look like 3d wings, not like a piece of paper wrapped around a cylinder. The beak is also more 3D, the feathers around the eyes have better detail, in all it is just a better piece of art. I like the colors of the first one more but I think the latest one is just better. Also, parrots have big feet. Grippers fr.
Art by me, all of them had photo references, not sure where all of them are though.
