You know you're not doing well when your chest piece is a gas can... This is what is commonly referred to as, "Field Repair." (Probably not a common phrase, I just made it up.) When your armor is literally falling apart during a battle, you can always just replace pieces with metal scraps, gas cans, rebar, or even Warthog turret shields. All you really need is duct tape!
