Chapter 4 Ever since my encounter with that creature in the lab, I've felt like something is out of place. The maze seems simpler now. I still need to find the entrance but as I traverse through the rocky terrain I feel as if the job isn't as grueling as it was. When the shifting creature died a force expelled from its body and absorbed into mine. I don't know how that is going to affect me but I think it already has. My supplies are dwindling and my hope flickers, with each passing day I grow more and more frustrated with this cursed place. If I die here then only Goddess Hylia knows how I died. Other than the spare monster here and there no life is present and I have considered just giving up. That night as I unfurl my bed roll for another restless night I think if I had just delayed my return back to the castle then I would not have been stuck here. I lay down and wish for sleep to take me, hoping that it will be restful. I wake up and seem shorter, I'm already short, but even more so. I look around and I can tell it is still dark but I seem to be able to see better. My sense of smell also seems to be heightened, and I realize I'm warm. I look down and my feet are paws. It is at that moment I register that I absorbed the shifting ability of that creature, and now I am a wolf. I try shifting back but I am unsuccessful I decide to explore in this form using my heightened sense to my advantage. As I explore I wonder how this will help me in trying to find the exit.
