Chap 9! this is good..not one of my greatest tho
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter 9~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "BEEP BEEP BEEP!" My alarm clock screamed at me. "Urgh" I groaned. I covered my head with an extra pillow. I had no nightmares which was surprising. "BEEP BEEP BEEP!" It kept screaming. "You won't give up huh, you stupid piece of junk." I put my hand underneath my pillow and I grabbed my knife. MOM's knife. My mind flashed back to everything that happened afterwards.We were enrolled in a boarding school for kids without a home. It's been 3 years since it happened. We 5 were together in most of our classes. And everything was pretty much the same as middle school. I gripped the knife and before it could beep again, I stabbed it right through the middle. I got up, brushed my teeth and got dressed. For me, a simple pair of leggings, a t-shirt and a hoodie was fine, but since I was roommates with Lizzy, she insisted I at least put my hair up nicely, so I put it in a ponytail and let my side bangs fall instead of tucking them behind my ears. I was also roommates with Syd and Carmen, and they came out at the same time, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. I threw my lunch box in my bag and we all walked down to our first class, homeroom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Homeroom is CRAZY. Everyone is talking and throwing things, so it's a miracle if you get to your desk without a bloody nose. We were in different classes but in the same group. Sydney and Lizzie were in one and Carmen, Jake and I in another. We sat in our seats and Jake came in his hood was pulled over his head. He walked quietly over and sat down, looking around like someone was stalking him. He sat down silently. After about a minute of us staring at him, I finally spoke. "Hey Sparky! No one's stalking you" He took his hood off and his hair was sticking up. I pointed at his head and he smoothed his hair. "Are they looking at me? He asked "Who?" Carmen asked. "The girls." I guessed. Just then the girls swarmed him. Like I said, high school was just like middle school; Jake was in the top 3 cutest boys in school. I couldn't help laughing. By the time they all left, homeroom was over. Now it was time for Orchestra for my sister and I, Band for the other 3, and I don't what for the others. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Orchestra is a breeze. I play viola, which is WAY better than a violin. We played a couple songs and time passed quickly. Next we have PE. PE is also a breeze. All we're doing right now is archery so I'm lucky. As I walk into the gym with Carmen and Sydney, I see Jake with all of his sporty friends. Then there are the Queen Bees, I like to call them,. They're probably talking about how LACY was going to ask Jake to go to the dance with her. I don't usually go to dances, but I decided to go this year because it's close to the end of the year. I picked up my bow and slid the quiver on to my back. "You are definitely going to win the tournament today!" Lizzie said as she jogged up to us. "I still can't believe Lacy tricked all of those boys to letting her win." I said. "Well, she IS pretty. They probably want to go to the dance with her." Syd said. I just smiled and handed her a bow. "Try this." I said. She tried holding it then chucked it behind her. "Nope." She said. "Fine, go to the other side." I said. She hugged me and ran over to the other side, where the people who didn't like bows and arrows could go and do the same thing with fencing swords instead. "Our two champions, please come to the center of the gym!" Coach Marshall said. "Brooklyn Jackson and Lacy Mc Martin!" I walked over, a calm look on my face. Lacy walked over, in her fancy way, with a smirk on her face. "You are going to hit those two targets, and then moving ones." Coach said. This was way too simple for me. Lacy started to persuade me into letting her win. Or maybe tried. I just nodded, and when she thought her job was done, said she would go first. I stood calmly and she shot. After a minute of aiming she shot. She hit the target, on the side, and it fell out. Her side cheered cause it still counted. "Ok, Brooklyn! Your turn!" I just walked up to the line, knocked an arrow, and shot. It flew straight through the target, and it stabbed the wall, right where the bulls eye would have been. Everyone was quiet until Coach said, "Brooklyn wins!" My side cheered. I saw Jake squeezing out of Lacy's side and running over to my side. They carried me out of the gym and if I was smiling and laughing like an idiot, I don't care, I humiliated Lacy, and that was good enough for me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
