It has been going on for months now, why in the world hasn’t it been solved? All these papers have very little information on it, just reports of a younger woman being kidnapped right outside the Perry’s Floral Design. It was like the victim and the culprit had just disappeared without a trace. I can feel the answer calling out to me. “Miranda,” it whispered. “Miranda”. If only I could find that voice. “MIRANDA!” Oh. It seems like that voice was real. “Oh, sorry Josh, I wasn’t paying attention.” “Well obviously. You know, you should take a break. At least from this case. I don’t want my little sister passing out just because she overworked herself on a case that will never be solved.” “It will be solved! Just…it will take time” Josh’s eyes soften as he bends down to me. “You need to take a break. I will force you if I have to. I refuse to let you hurt yourself like this anymore.” He stands up and turns around and starts walking towards…MY BOSSES OFFICE. I quickly get up and run after him. “No….Just give me a couple of days, then I will take a break. Okay?” He has a questioning look in his eyes as he contemplates. “ 2 days. I will give you two days before I ask your boss to put you on paid leave for a couple of days.” He thought about something before speaking again. “And I swear, if you get so much as even a dizzy spell, come to me so I can ask before you completely pass out. Alright?” “....Alright” I went back over to my desk and something stood out to me in the picture on the paper. There was a woman in the background of the picture. I quickly grabbed my jacket and that paper to set out and find that woman when I ran straight into Josh’s back. Why does he have to be anywhere and everywhere at the same time? Josh turned around to see me and asked, "Where are you going in such a hurry?” “I have a two day time limit, remember, I have to run to get anything done.” “I’m coming with you.” “What?” “I’m. Coming. With. You.” UGH!!!! Does he just not trust me to do anything by myself or something? But knowing how stubborn he is, I reluctantly agreed as he followed me to my truck. “How does such a tiny person own such a big truck?” “Oh I don’t know, how about I paid for it?” “Smart alec” I rolled my eyes as I climbed into the driver’s seat as Josh climbed into the passenger seat. I started my truck, then pulled out of the parking lot. We arrived at the Florists and asked about the woman in the picture. “Oh yeah, she came in here to buy daisies. Let me pull up her address and give it to you.” The worker behind the counter pulled up her address and we went to her apartment. When we knocked on the door, there was no answer. “This is the police Ms. Chambers. We just want to ask you a few questions” Josh said, thinking she wasn’t paying attention. Still no answer, I started to get a bit worried. Josh and I got our handguns from our belts before he kicked open the door. We entered to see the apartment in shambles. Things off of bookshelves stern out around the room. We looked around but no one was there. So we turned on our radio’s and said there was a break-in at the address we were at. That is when I saw some rose petals on the ground. The florist said she bought daisies, not roses. I immediately asked Josh to stay behind and wait as I turned to run out the door. Josh quickly grabbed my arm before I could go anywhere. “No, I don’t want you to be alone. There is a chance that whoever did this knows that we are onto them. I just don’t want anything to happen to you.” “I will be fine, trust me.” “...Okay…just be careful”, releasing my arm. I ran down the stairs, lightly tripping down the last couple. “What did I say about being careful!?” I heard Josh calling from upstairs. “How in the heck did you know?” I could hear the smirk in his voice, “I didn’t but now I do.” She rolled her eyes as she ran to her truck and hopped in. I looked up as I started the truck. I looked through the windshield to see Josh staring at me from the window. His eyes showed all the worry in his mind. I steered from the parking lot back to the Florist. I asked the last person to buy roses on the date of the crime. “Oh, could you come back for that? That is written in our books, it’s not in the system.” I didn’t question anything and followed the worker. They led me to a room in the back…that had a girl tied to a chair. There was a sharp pain on the back of my head, then everything went black. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where is she, she has been gone for way too long. She left more than an hour ago and the florist is only 15 minutes away. As soon as the rest of the crime scene investigators came, I took off running, so I could reach the florist as soon as possible.
As soon as I arrived, I saw her truck, but the doors were locked. I kicked in the glass, miraculously, the alarm didn’t go off. I took the gun from my belt and checked the area. I went to the back, checked every hall, then found a hallway with a light on. I walked down and slowly peaked in and saw…Miranda…she was unconscious, tied to a chair, next to another girl, who was Ms. Chambers. I snuck in and saw the worker, which I had finally had a good look at their name tag, Ridden Lockwood. I pointed the gun at them. “Hands where I can see them. You are under arrest. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have a right to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney, then the court will appoint one to you.” I put Ridden in Handcuffs and tied him to a rope connected to a wall to keep him where he was. Then I ran over to the chairs and untied Ms.Chambers, she thanked me as she stood up to stretch. I then untied Miranda, I caught her before she fell completely to the floor. I laid her on the ground and checked her pulse, it was beating strongly, thank god. I checked her breathing and….She snored in my face. I told her she was tired. I called for backup, and when they got here, they told me to take Miranda home and make sure she rests a lot, as she burned herself out. I took her to my apartment to sleep on my couch for the night. I won our bet… she was tiring herself out with this case. I called the crime scene investigators, the found the missing woman, she was buried...under their rose bed there at the flower shop.
