Update on Toast + Truffle! 1-2] First up, I took Toast into the indoor arena and did some jumps with him. We worked mostly on striding as he struggles with doubles and triples sometimes, and he did really well! 3-5] Then I brought Truffle in from the field and tied him up in the round pen. 6-7] I grabbed his tack, then took off his rug and started tacking him up. 8-10] Once he was all tacked up, I got on him, then we started warming up. We just did some basic walk, trot, canter today as it's my first time riding him and we're just getting to know each other. 11-14] After about 20 minutes in the round pen, I decided to take him on a quick walk through the forest. When I bought him, I was told he was quite spooky so I wanted to see how he handled a new environment and how much practice he needed. Overall, he did well, apart from when a bird flew out of the trees; of course he spooked and ran off the path, but with some encouragement, and once the bird had flown away, he continued on.
