I was looking for old character sprites to re-download when I found that the classic edition of the Scatposters had never been reuploaded to Scratch. Here it is, in all of its nostalgic glory.
Note on the Scatposters Classic: I made this throughout March-May of 2023. I had discovered some primitive Scratch mods from around the time before they got really popular, so I messed around with the template during school hours and this was manifested. Given that there was no bar-of-standard, it's obviously aged. But I still feel this sense of charm in it that I haven't gotten from anything I've made since. I admit even my modern work is stuff I can't confidently say I'm proud of, maybe because I pressured myself to bend the knee to the current, more sophisticated standard? Then again, it's ironic. I could never convince myself to make something fully serious and respectable, so I feel that the things I've made since this project can't be liked for being that funny, or for being genuinely good. (Though I do have great respect who finds enjoyment in my work despite that.) I wrote this mini-essay as a joke as well because it's dumb to have a bunch of paragraphs in the notes of a mod such as this, but don't make the same mistake I did, and conform to the quality standards that the cynical people of this community expect. You'll end up with a project that nobody is happy with. Not even yourself.
