Guys i genuinely believe this is peak character design -- 1. original design by @littlecat11111 2. this was the first drawing i made for the character, so i was still figuring out what i wanted them to look like and stuff lmao. i end up changing some things later. i want to shade this but i actually forgot how to shade???? 3. I made this before coming up with any lore. I love how this turned out, this looks so so cool :3. final design, i may have changed too much??? I actually didn't like the tail too much and couldn't find a way to change it to my liking so i got rid of it </3 4. [star] before. the incident. I think i forgot how to draw feral anatomy. 5. WHY DID I LWK COOK??? THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST LIGHTING AND BACKGROUND IVE EVER DONE?? I spent way too many hours on this I think it’s the longest I’ve spent on one art drawing. I am extremely sad scratch butchered the quality. 6. Random sketches 7. Actually ref sheet, made a couple final changes. I don’t know how it took me so long to make a ref sheet 8. This was mostly a shading test and I don’t really like this lmao -- lore I guess [star], the most gorgeous blueish-black kitten that he had ever seen. This was it, this was the one, that was expected to come, to save them at the perfect time. They had a striking resemblance to the one of the cats in the legends, Zora (may or may not be a reference to my old sona zoroark :eyes:). She was told to bring aid to the town in times of desperate measures, and they just so happened to be going through a horrible drought. The kitten was named [star]. As they were believed to be Zora reincarnated. They were basically worshipped, fate determined from the moment of their birth. The drought went on, and the cats gave [star] even more things. Meanwhile they were confused, only being a kitten. They accepted it as they got older, and the drought ended, it being the norm for [star]. But it began to be even more on them. Other cats were jealous, and they were held to extremely high standards. One slip up, and [star] was punished and doubted. Every good thing was because of them, every bad thing was their fault somehow. A part of them wanted to be a normal cat. They were not even allowed to make their own choices. But one day, the people in the town had made a decision. And everything changed. They were given a shard, one that supposedly was found after a meteorite crashed into the earth. The cat that had first found it had…. Strange..? Things happen to him. He was not found the next day. It seemed to hold some kind of power, and it had been decided that [star] could handle and harness it. They knew this was likely a bad idea, but there was no use arguing. They took it and walked off. Almost instantly, [star] felt weird. They brushed it off, as it was probably their fault anyways. They slept with it close to their chest, falling asleep quietly. [star] woke up earlier then usual, a sharp pain in their spine. They sat up, and slowly opened their eyes, only to be greeted by a million flashing stars blinding their left eye. “AH-” [star] covered their eye, closing it again. They tried opening it again, even slower, and the stars stung again. They closed it again, tears pricking at their eye. What was happening what could have caused this what- They tried. Lifting a paw to touch it. But they felt a sharp edge where their paw should be (THIS IS REFERING TO CLAWS LMAO). Long story short this is uhm the thing that happened the incident. The people believed that this was the final bit of proof, as [star] resembled how Zora was often visualized even more closely, and they did the right thing. But [star] had had enough. They couldn’t take this anymore, and in the dead of night, they smashed the shard into a million pieces, and ran away. * They felt so many emotions- hope, tranquility, the perfect sync of light paws running along with heavy claws. And fear, uncertainty to run away from the perfect life that was simply handed to them without a second thought. They bolted straight into the forest without a second thought, not even considering for a second what they were planning to, you know, like, do to survive in the forest. [star] found a clearing so perfect it didn’t seem natural- a waterfall splashing down from a river above, and even a cave in the elevated piece of land for shelter against possible future rain. This was it. They changed their name to something more human, rather than something that hazily reminded them of the savior they were built up to be. This was their new home. Forever. /Hopefully/.
song is around the bend. i sincerely apologize for putting it in this. all art by me unless specified otherwise design by @littlecat11111 extra notes abt the lore because i couldn't fit it in the instructions (would like to mention that Aspen is not and never was Zora or her reincarnation and like everything is a coincidence) I lwk dont like the story very much, I’ll probably rework it massively in the future (beginning and end will be basically the same though). The beginning and end will be very similar though. WHAT IS WITH ME AND MAKING DTA CHARACTERS GO THROUGH EXTREME PHYSICAL WOUNDS OR BODY ALTERCATION….
