Originally shared Feb 28, 2024. Welcome to Anastasia Evangeline - A Picture Story. A lot of people liked my other picture stories, so I made another. But I warn you, this one has a twist... Click any key or the screen to move on. The Story: Age 5: Anastasia Evangeline is a rich, pampered, but over-protected child. Her mother, Maeve Veracci, controls her whole life from her hair (ALWAYS in a prim bun) to her friends (her mom chooses only the MOST prim and posh little girls from the neighborhood). Her mother also makes her wear jewelry every day, but she doesn't mind THAT. In fact, she doesn't mind ANYTHING her mother does... yet. Goes by Anastasia Evangeline, and doesn't ever think that her name is long or strange. Favorite color is pink. Age 6: Keeps getting hints about something important that will happen (her mother is tired a lot...). Is overjoyed when her mother says she can wear makeup (after begging and begging and begging). "Finally!" Favorite color is blue. Wants her WHOLE room painted blue, and her mom gives in (she's been doing that a lot...). Age 7: Her mom has a baby!! Her name is Daphne Penelope, and gets ALL their mother's attention. Ana Eva is jealous. Goes by Ana Eva when she gets teased at school for a long name and realizes it IS long. Her mom does not approve, but is too focused with Daphne Penelope to do anything about it. Ana Eva is tired of her mother's protectiveness after she experienced the drop in it when her mom was sick. Age 8: She is sick and tired of her mom's protectiveness, so she packs her bags and leaves. She dyes her hair so people can't recognize her. It is nearing winter... Goes by Kim. Age 8.5: As the first winter snows come in, "Kim" starts to think that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. She decides to sleep in a snow drift for the night. That was a bad idea. The police found her body the next day. It's too late... or so they think. They put "Kim's" body in a new experimental museum called "Runaways", where kids come on field trips and people tell them why they shouldn't run away. It includes pictures, articles, statues, and now bodies, in a large freezer. Age 120: 111 years later, half of the museum burned down, and the owners abandoned it and what's left of the little town. Many people moved out because of a new town up north. By then, only one family lived there: Mr. and Mrs. Veracci. The next thing Ana Eva knew, she was in a white room with three walls, and the edges of the missing wall were charred. She dizzily got up, not knowing where she was, and having the vivid memory of lying in the snow drift nearby, went outside to find her mother, Maeve Veracci. She figured she could straighten things up with her mom and then she could live in her own house again. As she stepped outside, she noticed there was no snow at all! In fact, the sun was shining down from a cloudless sky, and flowers were in bloom all around. She shook off the thought and kept walking toward her house. When she arrived, she hung her head and knocked quietly. A middle aged woman, much older than her mother, opened the door. "Oh, hello ma'am, how can I help you?" Ma'am? Ana Eva was confused. "Um, I'm looking for my mother, Maeve Veracci. Do you know where she is?" Ana Eva answered. "Maeve Veracci, Maeve Veracci, hmm..." the woman mumbled. She went back into the house and spoke to her husband, looking from him to Ana Eva and shaking her head. The woman came back. "Why don't you come in ma'am." She looked concerned. As they sat on the couch she said, "My name is Kali. Now I don't mean to pry, but how old are you?" "Eight" Ana Eva replied. Kali looked shocked now. "But how?" she mumbled. "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but you are NOT 8. Look at your hair! Your face!" Kali handed her a mirror. Ana Eva's face was covered in wrinkles, and her hair was very long and grey. She gasped and stuttered. "B-b-wha, th-this, whaat?" "Your mother is my great-great-grandmother. You are my great-great-great-aunt," Kali stated. Ana Eva was speechless. But finally, she told Kali and Pete (Kali's husband) everything, from the over-protectiveness of her mother, to running away, to waking up in the white room and walking here. She was tired. "Why don't you go upstairs to rest," Pete suggested. Ana Eva heartily accepted with a sigh of relief. Anastasia Evangeline knew she would be happy with her new family. THE END. Other People: Maeve (Ana Eva's mom) Kali Pete
