Lore and historical context: Ireland’s golden age has ended, the land once renowned for its poetry, wealth, influence and religious power is crumbling. Ever since the death of the great Brian Boru, the last true High King Ireland has been suffering from weak High Kings, High Kings that not all the kingdoms want in power, civil war is almost constant. The once powerful Uí Neill (English: O’Neill clan) who have long held the position of High King are under threat, their once powerful kingdoms of Mide (Meath) and Ulaidh (Ulster) have splintered as different chiefs and Kings destabilised and caused civil wars in the kingdoms. The Vikings who arrived in Ireland in the 700s are also not doing great, having recently managed to recapture Dyflin (Dublin), Waterford, Wexford, Limerick and Cork which had been conquered by Brian Boru. They are losing their former influence ever since they lost England. Dyflin and the Isle of Man are their last great kingdoms. But now a new threat has arrived, the Normans, they are currently preoccupied in England but rumours say that the King of Leinster is thinking of inviting them to conquer Ireland… I will give more specific lore for the main nations Some parts of this are randomised but I will likely make the final call so it isn’t to unrealistic The yellow dot is Tara, that is where the High King traditionally rules from Rules: I’m the host No Powerplay Pls don’t spam (I understand if it’s by accident) Be realistic to the Era (no guns etc)
