Originally shared Jun 04, 2024. Welcome to Justin: A Picture Story. This is my first picture story of a boy. ;) Use up and down arrows to toggle the page label. Also, this story has a longer, more story-like portion at the end. Be advised, because it is sort of graphic. Original is #128 in "icon designer" :D #icondesigner *WARNING* Tragic death Age 7: Justin is a shy, caring little boy who is obsessed with everything having to do with dragons. He was born with a hearing impairment. Justin's real hair color is black, but he's had it dyed blonde as long as he can remember. That's just how he likes it. Age 8: Justin's mother decides to enter him into 3rd grade at a nearby private school after homeschooling him for 4 years. He is excited because he gets to wear a uniform that matches his eyes and there is a fantasy class (with dragons!)! His favorite color is green. Age 9: It turns out, there are a ton of bullies at his new school, and he gets bullied for his hearing aids and dragon obsession. He dyes a part of his hair sea-green in an attempt to "fit in". Justin is diagnosed with depression. Age 10: To his relief, his mom decides to take him out of the private school, but she also sues the school. His favorite color is now black. Age 11: Since he isn't in the terrible private school anymore, he is feeling better, but his mother is struggling with the court case on top of also homeschooling him again. He does not have depression any more. Age 12: Justin's mother loses the case, and now the family owes the school $150,000. She is also going to have a baby, but still has to also work a job to pay off the debt. Justin does all he can to help his mom with the debt by mowing lawns, selling lemonade, and having garage sales. (Justin does not know about the baby) Justin dyes part of his hair black, his natural hair color. Age 13: The debt is down to $120,000, but at this rate it will take them 5 more years to pay it off. At almost 4 months of pregnancy, Justin's mom has no choice but to tell him about the baby. Justin is excited, but worried too. He knows how much hospital bills are. He tries to help out. Age 14: Justin's mom has the baby! It's a girl, named Abbie. His mom has to keep working so they can pay off the debt, and Justin has to watch his new sister every day. Justin's family can't afford to keep dying his hair blonde, so he's back to his natural hair color. **Do not go to the next slide until you finish reading the Age 15 section!** Age 15: One day, Justin is watching Abbie in his room when their mom and dad are at work. Suddenly, the fire alarm goes off. Justin rushes to the bedroom door and tests the doorknob with the back of his hand. It is blazing hot. Backing away, Justin thrashes his head around, looking for a way out, but since his room is in the middle of the house, there are no windows. The door is the only way. Abbie has realized her brother's fear, and starts crying, only adding to the stress. Justin grabs a blanket to protect himself from the hot doorknob, and puts the blue cloth around it. Justin pulls and pulls, but the hinges have been essentially melted together, and the door won't budge. Smoke starts creeping in underneath the door, and the heat becomes unbearable. The neighbors see smoke barreling out of the house, and call 911. Still, it is too late, and the fire fighters find Justin and Abbie trapped in the blackened room. THE END (I may add more later!)
