Adelaine Caddel- I wake up from my dreamland and look up at the blue sky. The sun is above me, gleaming in all its glory. I turn to my right and find Oliver still sleeping soundly. His dark brown hair is sweeping over his eyes and making my heart do a twirl. He looks so cute and defenseless here, sleeping as if there wasn’t a mission to be fulfilled. No. I have to pull myself together. I stand up and stretch my limbs that has fallen back asleep. I look around our camp and find something wrong. I’m missing something. Audrey. She’s gone. I try to see if there are footprints leading to where she is and sure enough, there is. It leads all the way to a small Meadow, hidden behind layers of trees and grass. I find Audrey shooting her arrow at a trunk. She is pretty deadly with the bow. I walk over, stepping on a twig and the next thing I know, I have an arrow pointed at my heart. I smile and say as steady as I can, “You don’t need to sh00t me. I’m just making sure you weren’t kidnapped.” She smiles lightly but it doesn’t reach her eyes. Audrey looks as if she’s been angry, furious even. It makes me wonder what happened while I was asleep. We walk back to our tent together and find Oliver making some food. He looks at both of us and smiles. We all eat, overcome with hunger and exhaustion. I know it’s only a matter of time before we need to move again. This mission is all about time, which is a funny thing to say the least. It can go as slow as it can but can also tick by as quick as lightning. Time was always said to be a precious thing because everyone loses it. Hopefully, I don’t lose time as well. This mission may take all the time possible.
