Q: ɪ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴏᴡɴ ʀᴀᴄɪɴɢ ᴛᴀᴄᴋ. ᴡʜᴇʀᴇ ᴄᴀɴ ɪ ꜰɪɴᴅ ꜱᴏᴍᴇ? A: Winterwood Equestrian Tack Shop (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1137970047) offers full racing tack. You could also ask around in the horse communities to see who also sells or makes racing tack. Don't steal anyone's tack though! Art theft is grounds for disqualification. Q: ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪꜰ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ'ꜱ ʀᴀᴄɪɴɢ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀ ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀ ɪ ᴡᴀɴᴛᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ᴜꜱᴇ? A: There are several option. The first one, which I personally recommend, is to choose a new color! There are hundreds of colors to choose from. You could also use the color you wanted to and add a pattern to it (checkers, stripes, ect.). Or you could just use the color like you wanted to anyway. While it's nice to have everyone have their own racing color, it's not required. Q: ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪꜱ ᴀ ʀᴀᴄɪɴɢ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀ? A: A racing color is simply the color you and your horse wears. Your horse's saddle pad and mask, and your rider's shirt need to be your chosen racing color. You can also wear your color on your helmet, if you'd like although that one is optional. Q: ʜᴏᴡ ᴡɪʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴀᴄᴇ ʙᴇ ᴊᴜᴅɢᴇᴅ? A: The race will be judged using a random wheel picker. However, race times will be released along with the results, in case you want to keep track of how fast your horse is. Q: ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇɴᴇꜰɪᴛ ᴏꜰ ᴀᴅᴅɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ʀɪʙʙᴏɴꜱ ᴍʏ ʜᴏʀꜱᴇ ʜᴀꜱ ᴡᴏɴ? A: Ribbons will get your horse an extra spot(s) of the wheel. An experienced jockey who has raced horses in the past also increase your chances of winning. Q: ᴅᴏ ɪ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴊᴏᴄᴋᴇʏ ꜰᴏʀ ᴍʏ ʜᴏʀꜱᴇ, ᴏʀ ᴄᴀɴ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ᴇʟꜱᴇ ʀᴀᴄᴇ ᴛʜᴇᴍ? A: You can absolutely choose someone else to race your horse. The prizes, however, will go to the owner of the horse. Q: ɪ'ᴍ ᴀ ᴊᴏᴄᴋᴇʏ ᴡʜᴏ ᴅᴏᴇꜱɴ'ᴛ ᴏᴡɴ ᴍʏ ʜᴏʀꜱᴇ. ʜᴏᴡ ᴄᴀɴ ɪ ʙᴇɴᴇꜰɪᴛ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ʀɪᴅɪɴɢ ꜱᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ᴇʟꜱᴇ'ꜱ ʜᴏʀꜱᴇ? A: That's something you'll have to take up with the owner of the horse you're racing. The owner might be willing to split the prize with you or pay you to race their horse. You will also build your experience and credit as a jockey, making it easier for you to win competitions of the horses you race. Q: ᴄᴀɴ ɪ ʀᴀᴄᴇ ᴍᴜʟᴛɪᴘʟᴇ ʜᴏʀꜱᴇꜱ? A: You can enter multiple horses, but you need a separate jockey for each one. The race happens in one heat (unless we get a large influx of entries) and you can't ride two or more horses at the same time, obviously.
