just exploring paint.net's effects/filters and using inkscape. The images were all translated into svg images in inkscape. (i was hoping there was a way of translating layers to objects in a similar way to that is suppose to be possible between adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator. but i haven't yet found that equivalent in inkscape yet.)
