1. The fall of Hunter Hunter was a NightWing born to Bangwan, a NightWing advisor and Darkfire, a NightWing scribe. From young, Hunter was raised to be a fighter. “Hunt down the prey, trap them in a corner and strike,” his father always said. But Darkfire was using him to beat his all-time rival, Starseeker, who stole his rightful place as advisor. He hated Starseeker. He just wanted his rival dead. So, he taught his son every fighting move he knew. They wrestled all the time, and by the time Hunter was 4, he was famous for fighting his classmate who bullied his friend. It made the news: ‘young NightWing beats up bully who hurt friend, bystanders describe as terrifying and say he could defeat a grown-up’. As he grew up, he realized the intention of his father. Furious to know he’d been used, he confronted him and Darkfire just laughed. He claimed he only wanted a dragonet to beat up Starseeker, and he hadn’t done that yet. He said he wouldn’t let Hunter out if he didn’t beat his rival. Being mad and stricken with grief that his father didn’t love him, he killed him. He flew off, worried that the queen would get him executed, and settled in a small village by the seaside called Seashell-By-The-Coast, or SeaCoast, for short. He met the dragon of his dreams, a beautiful SeaWing who captured his heart. But she didn’t love him back. By then, he had found an animus-enchanted artifact which gave him unlimited animus magic. Fueled by sadness and anger, he started destroying. Five dragons were chosen to stop him. Fern, a sneaky RainWing who was known for his loyalty. Shard, a brave IceWing who would do anything for his loved ones. Jay, a strong and powerful SkyWing who fought for justice. Stream, a smart and resourceful SeaWing who was the brains behind the plans. Scorpion, a responsible, honest and caring SandWing who loved all dragons. They tried to defeat him, but he had already killed Jay and Fern when they tried to have a peaceful negotiation. Shard was sent to kill him, but he never returned. Scorpion and Stream were the only ones left, and they were desperate. Scorpion had animus magic. Somehow. He knew Hunter had protected himself from other dragons’ animus magic, but Stream thought up an idea. He constructed the spell. “When I shatter this bowl, my fate will be intertwined with Hunter’s. The second spell: I enchant my soul to be shattered, broken, and when I fall, Hunter will as well.” Scorpion agreed, but secretly, he was a greedy dragon, so he made Hunter’s soul intertwine with Stream’s instead of his. At the last moment, he killed Stream, and he whispered, “farewell, dear friend. I had to live. You had to die. If I die, the world will go dark. But I’m sorry, Stream. I just had to do it.” Hunter was killed as well, and Scorpion rose to power. His rule was short, as Hunter had uttered his last spell just before he fell. It was a spell to kill Scorpion, and it worked. The world still echoes from the deaths of the two leaders.
