10 years ago today, I created the Tbug20LovesRedstone Scratch account after forgetting the password to my old Tbug20 account that I never did anything with (And since my other commonly-used username Tboogle didn't exist yet, I got myself stuck with this annoying super-long one). Since then, I've shared 175 projects (not including the ones that have been unshared or taken down), and gained over 300 followers. HOLD UP. I just realized... When I made this account, I WAS NINE. WHAT. DOES NOT COMPUTE. Wild how time flies. No wonder I forgot that password, I was barely alive. I want to say thank you to the creators of Scratch for providing myself and everyone else with this amazing platform. I seriously wouldn't be where I am today without it. It's kind of crazy that I'm still semi-active on here after 10 years, most people would have burnt out and moved on to better engines by now. With 10 years and 175 projects under my belt (That's about one project every 21 days on average), I've made some pretty cool stuff, and also a bunch of garbage. My first project EVER was a trailer for a Minecraft FNAF game I wanted to make, but that never came to fruition, so I removed that one. So now, my first project is "(Not Telling You How Many) Nights at Freddy's," A joke project based on a YouTube video by epicsurfingvids. After that I'd go on to make FNAF menu edits, a couple small animations here and there, and a whole lot of junk remixes. My first proper series of projects was "lejend uf selduh," a joke parody of The Legend of Zelda which was made to be intentionally dumb. Soon after I'd start making some proper games here and there, like the two Dark Halls games (there was actually a 3 and 4 at some point, but they were just lazy reskins of Super Mario, so I removed them) and a Jetpack Joyride remake. In 2016 I'd make probably the two most important games of mine on this platform (in my opinion), 6 Hours with Scratch Cat and Da advensuers uf LOL-Man, which set the trajectory for my love of game development, leading to me studying it in college today. After a while, I made some Dog Man vector sprites, which, despite not even really being all that good, are STILL my most popular projects and 80% of my Scratch notifications to this day are relating to them. In 2017 I started The Toad Empire, a secondary account that roleplayed as a Toad named tode spreading the message of his glorious Toad Empire to the masses. It became quite popular, and my main account surpassed it in followers only just recently. In 2020 I started making small animations with Blender, sharing them on both YouTube and Scratch. I still mess around in Blender sometimes, but not as much as I used to. Those skills ended up becoming helpful, as I'm actually using it in one of my college classes right now as Maya is sometimes hard to work with. Also in 2020, I started the modern era of Six Hours with Scratch Cat, remaking the original two games from the ground up. They've since been taken down by the Scratch Team for being "too scary", which I don't personally agree with, but I don't want to start a dispute with the people who have the power to delete my account. They're still playable elsewhere, you just need to know where to look (though I'm not allowed to tell you directly). I do want to say that I'm ITCH-ing to see your reactions to the third game, which while still being stuck in early development is already shaping up to be my favorite thing I've ever made. And that brings us to today. While I don't share many projects these days outside of GBTK Jam entries and teasers, I still check the site frequently and read every notification (even if most of them are just " loved Dog Man and Petey Run Cycles"). Six Hours with Scratch Cat 3 (or at least the project announcing its release because I can't share it directly) will be the final project I share on this account. After that, I'll still read and respond to comments and things, but no more new content will be shared from me. I'll also still be active on "other platforms," so to speak. See you on the flipside.
