BIOGRAPHY -- NAME: Nessie / Loch Ness SPECIES: No direct species, a spectre and manifestation of humanity's curiosity towards the unknown--particularly the Loch Ness monster. GENDER: Genderless (It/Its) PERSONALITY: Although appearing to be aloof and almost hostile with its glaring looks, Nessie is fairly timid and curious. As a spirit, it doesn't tend to find itself in situations where it needs to actively speak, being introverted to its core--unlike how some media portrays ghosts. BACKSTORY "I see, is this a respite from my sorrow?" -- Fabled whispers of a monster inhabiting the Scottish Highlands, more particularly, the Loch Ness. A large, long-necked beast, often dubbed dubiously as the Loch Ness Monster. Commonly shortened down to Nessie for those hunting the peculiar and entrancing creature. All including a spirit--perhaps a ghost of the past, longing to be remembered beneath the soil. A spectre hidden under the clay of a swamp. A four-legged creature only found in the echoes of the still lake: its water, long still, quiet and untouched by time or life. A spirit decorated in the moss of the banksides, a sun-faded camera and pictures of its beloved creature decorating its body like memorabilia. Wearing red ribbons across its head like a crown, or perhaps, a warning to those who came exploring. Its name, too, was Nessie. A manifestation of the longing to find the original monster. Nessie, however, lacked any want to find the creature it was modelled and shaped after. Its desire laid in studying the creatures, their longing which had created itself. Humans, humanity. It yearned to fulfil its own inherit curiosity about its creators. Why had it come to be? It'd find out. But with so many humans fearing the swamp it resided in, how could it ever bring people there? The questions and thought only seemed to irritate the docile spirit. Wandering the stillness of the landscape, a swamp left to rot, the grace of mould reclaiming dead roots and leaves. The smell of mildew. Just how far away was humanity from itself? For Nessie, it was too far, too far from itself, too far to reach for the answers it desired. And it began to weep. To mourn something it could not have. But, to the vastness of a marsh, its sobs only echoed as howls to the wind. A lullaby to the ears of a person who'd mindlessly stumbled into Nessie's habitat. A human.
