Teysiri shielded her eyes from the blinding light that met her as she stepped off the metal ramp. As her eyes adjusted to the light, Teysiri discovered that she was in the same, tree-dappled clearing that she has seen as she had stood beside General Erik Grace. Now, she remembered… “Water!” Teysiri exclaimed, not realizing that she had spoken aloud. Teysiri raced over to the skin-blue river and lapped the water noisily. She lifted her head slightly to look at the river’s wind blown surface. She gazed at her reflection, taking in her changed face. Cryo-sleep had taken its toll on the young Na’vi. The humans in charge of maintaining the ISV Venture Star had warned Teysiri that she would be hungry and weak for a long while after she exited her Cryo-chamber. Teysiri had expected herself to look slightly different, but not like this. Her blue-teal skin was almost as pale as a ice. Her face was thin and her already slim body had become even leaner. Teysiri clenched her stomach as it rumbled. She looked around the clearing, in search of something-anything-to eat. She saw the edge of a jungle and started toward it. The mysterious, unfamiliar birdsongs seemed to call her toward it. “Come here,” the birds seemed to say. “Come here and feel at home.” After a while of walking, Teysiri stumbled into another, much smaller clearing. In the center of the clearing was a circle of chairs with an extinguished campfire. Teysiri padded around the circle, examining the back of each chair. Engraved in the back of every chair was a different name. “FWhip,” Teysiri said softly to herself,”Shrub, Pix, Joey, Katherine, Joel, Lizzie, Scott, Jimmy, Pearl, Sausage, Gem. Who are these people? Do they live here?” Teysiri picked a few wild berries from a nearby bush-whispering a thank you to Eywa for the gifts-and placed them on the edge of the empty fire pit. “As a peace offering,”she said, inclining her head slightly. “My apologies for intruding into your territory.
