click or space. maybe don't look at this project at all if you don't want spoilers. yeah!!! I got the ending! Finally! After like playing for almost three whole days straight! I think the DLC was alright. There are a lot of flaws, it's incredibly rushed and the story is kinda random, but there are some good parts too. I LOVE the ending region, it's gorgeous. It's like this weird benefactor/ancient city and it gives me Stray vibes. When I first played RainWorld I was hoping that there would be regions and environments like this in the base game. I love being a creature living in the sewers and I loved seeing those shadows from the people who live in the city. It was awesome. And the lore implications with the oa oa echo (who I'm gonna assume is a child btw, considering you get to play with its toys at the end and that it's very childish.) That the echo could finally move on and ascend fully. I originally thought echoes were trapped because they were not ready, too attached to their natural urges and whatnot, and that if you become an echo, you'll stay one forever with no way to let go and escape. (: And then there are a lot of flaws too. Especially with the creatures and how the regions work mostly in my opinion. The new creatures are really braindead and don't feel as alive as the basegame creatures. Kinda like Downpour yeeks (ew.) And I hate how almost every place you can go to is some part of Aether Ridge and that they barely felt like actual ecosystems. And the portals, honestly it would be better if there were atleast some gates. But idk. I think the regions might be memories of that one echo you chase throughout the campaign, but I'm not sure. The story was a bit random, not very sure what that opening/intro has to do with really anything. But I like the dreams. I hope they add more dreams too, like normal ones where you don't have to do anything specific, similar to Survivor's dreams. To give some background information to the Watcher's family maybe. And what their life was like before all this. The gameplay was also very meh at some parts. You had to backtrack so much and it took me way too long to figure out what you were supposed to do. But I'm not going to deny that I had very very fun playing at some parts! I think I'm gonna give this DLC 4-5/10, actually maybe less because there are too many problems, honestly. But hopefully only for now. There are going to be updates adding more content (and hopefully fixing all the problems this DLC has) and I'm pretty excited!! I hope it will improve and polish this dlc and that I will be able to give it a better rating. I still think this is a lot better than Downpour btw, even if it feels unfinished it feels a lot more like RainWorld. also yes I'm aware that there's a second ending because I got spoiled a bit. I've met the rot iterator guy. He's funny. From what I've seen of that ending, it's not really as cool as the ending I got, I think, so I'm not really interested in getting that one right now. Maybe later.
