(Click the Envelope to Start!) Dear Scratcher, Happy Independence Day, friend! Today is July 4th, 1776. It's me, Liberty Adams! It's such a wonderful day here in Boston! Everyone's very happy, for today the United States declared independence from the British Empire! It was only months ago that my father was fighting the British alongside our loyal allies and fellow Americans. I recall being particularly excited when the famous Thomas Paine published Common Sense, his pamphlet advocating independence from the British Empire. I hope to explore this beautiful land with my brothers and sisters once the British are gone. We shall finally know freedom, and that is a beautiful thing. Wherever you are, whoever you may be, I trust that you will never give up freedom. Anyone can do what is easiest, but I know you will have the heart to do the right thing. Now I must go prepare. Happy Independence Day! Until we meet again, Liberty Adams ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Liberty Adams is a fictional Character with a brave soul and kind heart from the 1760's. Because July 4th is Independence Day, I have decided to write a letter from the community from her point of view! I love American History, so I decided to share some of it with the community!
