Scouts are another Sun Spirit only role. They work with birds to ensure the safety of the clan. At the beginning of the week, they Roleplay sending their birds out to find something, whether it be herbs, prey or fires to one of the territory hexes. They’ll receive info on what’s there and relay it to herbs —> medicine cat prey —> deputy fires —> blazeguide Each Scout can only relay their bird four times, and is not guaranteed to find something on the map each time. If they don’t find the fire square or don’t report it, the chances for a fire go up by 30%. It goes down 10% when it is locate (and reported). Scouts don’t have birds at the beginning of their training, usually obtaining one at 8 moons after a few lessons on basic bird care, and demonstrate their training skills as part of their final assessment. Their mentor chooses a bird that best mimics their personality. There are three different bird options. Magpie= Intelligence, Cunning, Resourcefulness, Patience, or Curiosity Raven= Compassionate, Enthusiastic, Positive, Creative, Honest Crow= Proud, Protective, Adaptable, Fearless, Determined After taming a bird, the bird takes their new warrior suffix (I.e. Windfeather’s bird would be called Feather) Only Scouts are able to keep birds, and birds are the only non-insect pet allowed. ArsonClan does not eat birds of any type btw, eating birds is considered wrong and always has been considered wrong. <3
