https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/36511162/ - Official Studio [Coming soon!] - Botanist Ref./MYO [Coming soon!] - Map of The Flotilla /|\ \|/ THE FLOTILLA "The Flotilla" (pronounced floh-TEE-yuh, similar as to how it would be in Spanish) is a small, free-floating city-state on what appears to be an altered unusually large asteroid, with a population just under half a million. It is almost entirely self-sufficient, and currently resides in the solar system's asteroid belt, though it is semi-mobile and came from a different, nearby sector of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Flotilla is inhabited by a non-human race known as "Botanists," though it is known for it's open policies and refuses very few immigrants, and therefore has many non-Botanists as well - though, mainly humans. The first codeword is "Moss." The Flotilla is, generally, non-confrontational. They have no military, and would rather negotiate than fight - or, so to speak, they'd rather cut off a leg than risk their head. However, Flotillans are fiercely protective of their home, and will not easily let it be taken over /|\ \|/ BOTANISTS "Botanists" are an alien race originating from a likely destroyed planet and now residing only on The Flotilla, making up for the majority of the city-state's population. Botanists are built for manual labor, and are often strong by default, though also fairly often come up on the short side of agility. They are a largely peaceful species, and are at an equal intelligence level as humans. Botanists have no concept of gender, due to having evolved without anything similar to it - any Botanist can have a child. Height - average is 6'3, tall is 7'1 and short is 5'7. Botanists known as "Reeds," which have a form of dwarfism, have an average height of 4'4, and Botanists known as "Redwoods," which have a form of gigantism, have an average height of 7'3. Coloration - Botanists are usually brown or muddy green, and often of darker shades. Albinism (no pigment, white coloration with red eyes) and melanism (too much pigment, black coloration with deep brown or almost black eyes) are not uncommon. Names - Botanist names consist of a first and last name. First names are almost always a plant, such as Rose or Reed or Oak, though sometimes they're human names, and last names are almost always common human last names. Names are most often English, Spanish, or Chinese, though they are not limited to those languages. /|\ \|/ UNIT SYSTEM Time scaling - time is kept using "generations." One generation is around 50 years. Currency - Flotillan currency is known as Nibs, and consists of coins about 3 cm in diameter. Coins are valued at 1 Nib, 2 Nibs, 5 Nibs, 10 Nibs, 50 Nibs, and 100 Nibs. 1 Nib is equivalent to $10. Other than that they use the metric system because even if I don't understand it it's better than the imperial system. /|\ \|/ RELATIONSHIPS Allied Nations Urath - Earthborn - Saturnia - Neutral Nations Quasar Imperium - Iostria - Death P.A.C.T. Despite their mystical-sounding name, however, council members are elected yearly (though can win infinite elections), and are often middle- or lower-class. However, there is one council seat, the Tangled One, who is elected once per generation and has the power to veto council decisions and to make choices on their own during emergencies. There are twelve Rooted Ones, each being in charge of a sector of The Flotilla. The second codeword is "Photosynthesis." You do not need to spell it correctly. Currently there are 31 Catchers active on The Flotilla. 1 Catcher = 75 people; costs 20 kilos Iron to construct; produces 30 kilos Iron, 10 kilos Copper; 260 kilos Water {25 kilos of metal are owed to Iostria by April 16th} FARMS - Active 24 hours daily, worker shifts are 8 hours daily in two sets of 4 [] Concentrated mostly in sectors 2, 4, 5, 7, and 9, though found in other sectors as well. Currently there are 110 Farms active on The Flotilla and 6 Farms active on Phobos (116 total). All Farms active on Phobos are on land gifted by Earthbound and are worked by farmers sent by Earthbound. 1 Farm = 50 people; 15 kilos of stone to construct; 5 kilos Wheat; 50 kilos Fruit, 50 kilos Vegetables, 50 kilos Corn; 5 kilos Spinach, 2 kilos Lettuce, 1 kilo Sugar Cane; 0 kilos Flowers {500 kilos of Fruit and 500 kilos of Sugarcane are owed to Earthborn by April 15th} /|\ \|/ NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS BULLET ANT - Bullet Ant is a large group who wish to create a military for The Flotilla. Originally based in Sector 11 but now spread throughout all 12 sectors. After what happened in their past, they decided that it wasn't going to happen again, and they begun training people.
