The leaves rustled softly as a cold autumn breeze blew by. The raindrops from the previous night fell from the bare tree branches onto the grass below. The woods tingled with magic, like the sensation you get when something exciting is about the happen. A cabin could be spotted just big enough to fit Padmini Murn and Yani Murn, and a curious black cat, which they called Clover. Yani and Padmini were sisters, and being sisters they shared a quite common sibling relationship. “YANI!”, yelled Padmini, “I’M BORED!” Padmini was the younger of the two, at 13, whereas Yani was 17. “Go outside! And take Clover with you!!” Yani replied. Oh! I’ll be able to work on my fairy garden! Padmini thought. Padmini ran downstairs and quickly grabbed her coat as she rushed out the door. The crisp fall morning light shined down as the sun illuminated the fairy garden. Padmini started searching for more items to add to the garden , she suddenly tripped over something. “A crystal!” She exclaimed, “Oh wow!! Clover! Come here!” The cat trotted over and nuzzled the crystal, as he did, a glimmer appeared in the grass. Sparkles flew into a small tornado. At last the magic had faded and what was left was a wishing well. Chapter 2. Clover rushed over to the well, still covered in glitter. Padmini shook her head and looked around, “Huh? Where’d the crystal go…?” She too got up to look at the well. The water in the well was a glimmering ice blue with some magenta haze floating on top. Padmini reached her hand out to touch it, but then a loud POP sound came out of the well, sending her and Clover flying back and hitting the ground. Clover trotted right back to the well. I should get Yani…, Thought Padmini. But something pulled her to the well, the smell of fresh rain lingered in the air, but the sky was clear. Clover had hopped up to the wooden brim, staring into the watery substance. The haze drifted away, revealing a gorgeous scene in the water. Like something out of a fairytale. Pieces of the fairy garden suddenly started floating, Padmini ducked as a mushroom house speedily flew into the well. “AH!” She screamed. Clover, however, jumped into the well. “CLOVER! CLOVER!!” The sparkling water devoured the small cat. Padmini took a deep breath and dove in after her cat. “Ouch…” Padmini rubbed her head in pain. “W- Where am I?!”. “Welcome” said a mysterious voice, “To the land of Wishing.” Chapter 3. Padmini looked around, the bare trees had been replaced with beautiful cherry trees, the cold ground had somehow frozen and melted over, leaving a small pond. A warm summer wind blew the tall grass east, at least a million fireflies came flying up into the sky. The time had seemed to change, it was night out. The glowing moon illuminated the well, which seemed to sparkle in the warm night. “Down here” said the voice. Padmini looked down to see Clover looking intently at her. “Padmini” said the cat, “Welcome to my home”. “WHAT IS HAPPENING, AM I GOING CRAZY? I MUST BE. I NEED YANI, WHY IS MY CAT TALKING?!” She got up frantically. “Okay, listen… the only way to get home is-“ “THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY?!!” “…yes, now listen. You must find your parallel self. We just traveled through a tesseract, a warp between time and space. We are in the year 1867 in a place called The Land Of Wishing. For every universe, you have a parallel version of yourself. The only way to travel in the tesseract, which is the well, is for one of your parallel selves to open it. And the only way back is to get the permission of who opened it.” “Then how’d you get here??” “I am from this world,” the cat replied, “I opened this same portal long ago, I lost the crystal, which is the key. And I have been stuck in your world ever since.” “Oh.. okay.” Padmini was very startled, she had never heard of anything like this before. “We must go.” Said Clover. And so, Padmini took a deep breath and followed a talking cat into a world of mystery. Chapter 4. Tiny colorful winged creatures cluttered the air. Fairies. Padmini gazed in awe, she had never seen anything this beautiful before. Clover walked swiftly towards a village, in which there was a library, decorated quaintly with fairy lights. They entered the tall building and breathed in the smell of books. “Why are we here?” Asked Padmini. “The library is always full of people from all over town, we’ll be able to find your parallel self in no time!” Clover said cheerily. They looked around at the stunning library, it was made of marble, with some vines and moss hanging from the ceiling and mushrooms covering the floor. “That’s strange” said Clover, “Nobody’s here…” The library, though beautiful, looked cold and desolate at the time. Just then the two confused travelers felt darkness come over them as mysterious figures dragged them away.
