Adelaine Caddel- Just when I was falling asleep, my mind decided to rethink my life choices. What if the magic folk didn’t even know they had magic. And how would we capture them? I stood up and walked toward a tree. I recognized this tree because I use to mark the days I stayed here. Before I had a home. This place gives me a sad feeling inside my gut. It makes me relive my parents’ death. I still have nightmares to this day. The fire burning my skin, the sobs racking my body, the ashes with my family and home on the ground. I don’t like sleeping or talking with Audrey and Oliver. Especially on this trip. I like them and they’re nice. I just can’t seem to tell my story just yet. When dawn comes, I pack my stuff in my bag. Audrey is still sleeping soundly but Oliver starts stirring. He looks at me, staring intently. I look away when I hear a noise to my left. On instinct, I grabbed my sword and turned in the direction. It was just forest, trees and bushes swaying in the morning breeze. I whisper as stern and calm as I can. “Oliver, wake Audrey up. Grab your weapons.” I made the mistake of turning towards him because now I’m being tackled to the ground. A metal pierces my arm, sending extreme pain. I scream, pain overtaking me. This could only mean one thing. Bandits. Author's note: Hehehhe action.
