R P T E R M S orp = open roleplay. this is the start of a rp that anyone can join in on! typically, if someone has already joined an open roleplay and you want to join as the 3rd person, you must get permission from BOTH of the people currently in the roleplay additional info: it's a good idea to include your faction, character's pronouns, and any other info the other person rping should know how to tag: ORP, faction, pronouns, anything else you want to add // roleplay text crp = closed roleplay. this is the start of a rp that only specific people can join in on! typically, this type of rp is preplanned and consists of 2 people. the people allowed to join are specified with an @ additional info: same as orp, it's a good idea to include basic character info how to tag: CRP w/ @username, faction, pronouns, anything else you want to add // roleplay text srp = self roleplay. this is the start of a rp that only 1 person, the person starting it, it allowed to participate in. these types of rps are uncommon for teotw but might occur additional info: n/a how to tag: SRP // roleplay text nt = new thread. this is the continuation of a rp! because of scratch having comment thread limits, nt's are pretty common. same as crp, don’t join a new thread unless you were part of the former thread additional info: n/a how to tag: NT w/ @username // roleplay text R P L E N G T H S one liner = rps consisting of one line, asterisks, and dialogue quotes. expect a line of text in response to your rp and expect to give the same. while typically avoided for more experienced rpers, considering the fact that scratch attracts a large number of younger kids, this length is common ex: "shouldn't we wait for the medicine cat to get back...?" semi-literate (semi lit) = rps consisting of at least 1-4 comments. here, we move past the asterisks and describe actions instead, but this type of rp still contains dialogue quotes ex: lucetta hadn't planned to invade another faction's territory. it certainly wasn't something she'd ever dreamed of doing, and she'd made a whole lot of plans in her time. the memory of the other syndicates, their incessant insistence that she simply had to gather intel on the other factions and their doings, burned a bad taste into her mouth. why should /she/ be the one reduced to sneaking around shadows, and especially in piqueo? one of the most savage factions, and that was saying something, considering she was fresh from lanpool. she'd played her part well as one of the beloved syndicates, and yet, she had been given the most demeaning task ever. they already had spies for this, but they'd been suspected of diverting from their mission and using their freedom as spies to escape lanpool. those conniving, unloyal, and untrustworthy snakes were not to be trusted. an insider would provide the most accurate results, wouldn't they? and so she had been chosen. her. hot-headed stubborn, and inefficent lucetta. why they chose her, the most unlikely candidate for a stealth mission, was beyond her comprehension. standing in the sand, her mana a heady force that she didn't dare hide out of familiarity with her hometown, she knew she looked like trouble. she was trouble. a burst of energy and the itchiness that was not being able to stand still propelled her to shift slightly, but even that was a fatal mistake. looking around, she realized another person was standing by the aquamarine waters, and kicked herself in frustration. stepping out from behind the outcropping of rocks, she gave a wave, concealing her internal anger and desire to take it out on someone literate (also called novella) = rps consisting of anything more than 4 comments. this can be as many as 8, and in rare cases, span further than that number. here, characters' thoughts are often expanded upon, and this is the most immersive and descriptive type of rp. though not for everyone, especially since burnout is common when pursuing to rp this length ex: it had been a whirlwind of training for luxanne louella-nova aurelia. an hour at this station, another hour at another, and all the while, she had kept her eyes peeled for anything, anyone that seemed to be a good ally, ripe for the picking. simultaneously keeping her distance from those *other* kids, those who had came from the outer districts. finding herself intentionally ostracizing them, mocking them in her head ruthlessly. then again, the more impoverished they were, the better for her. the worse they would fare in the games. she should've felt guilty, or at least remorseful for the selfish thought, but she wasn't. nothing ignited in her. she had become numb, invincible. not able to manifest any other human emotion, replacing those fleeting feelings with something much more monstrous. a mutant human, having evolved past what others knew. except she was still stuck. physically and mentally.
eyes drifting amidst the flocks of tributes, they pinned onto the station adjacent to the one she was standing in. striding to the next one, which she assumed was the holographic training fields, judging by the lone control panel, growing up and out of the ground. she made her way to it, decisive as always, and glared down at the options. her ears drowned out the cacophony of background noise as her fingers flew over the switches, and before she knew it, she had toggled off this, adjusted that, and clicked a random button. blue figures materialized in front of her eyes. she had to chastise herself for thinking it was magic. it was simply the technology available to the capitol. biting back a choking sound at the sheer amount of figures that kept forming, she huffed and grabbed the first weapon she saw. a lengthy sword. not her preferred option, but they were stampeding toward her with all the force of a thousand elephants, except they were weightless, and she couldn't reconcile her mind from tricking her. she had to get this over with. the sword was familiar in her grip, except it wasn't supposed to be. but who cared? no one batted an eye at her, or the fact that she was already knowledgeable about all these weapons, because everyone knew the capitol was biased to the careers. and she didn't care herself. slashing through one form after the other, the world blurred around her. pixels disintegrating and people falling, dead. by her hand. a sadistic giggle worked its way out of her mouth, and she didn't know how she had held her delight in for so long. images of this being the actual tributes, actual people in the arena wouldn't cease to flow into her mind like a stream of ideas, feeding her. the sound of her own laughs stopped as abruptly as they had started as she felt a holographic weapon pierced through her abdomen. staring down, the excruciating pain felt real. coursing through her veins, pumping jolts of awareness into her limbs, and making her want to scream in frustration. no. no. she couldn't have been harmed. it was blasphemous. *unholy*. shattering her own perception of herself. throwing a kick to the holographic figure that seemed to be sneering at her and forgetting entirely about the sword in her grip, she half stumbled, half ran over to the control panel and shut it off. only now did the beads of sweat running down her face and her back register. she hated perspiration. it felt uncomfortable, foreign, not when she was so used to living in comfort ( yeah so all of these examples i've actually wrote in rps before >< even the one liner but that's cs i was 9) M I S C events = temporary rp events that come and go, these can last as long as a couple months or as short as a few weeks oc = original character ic = in character ooc = out of character / out of context lore = established information about the rp world, factions, etc T E O T W S P E C I F I C T E R M S in alphabetical order bumble = the most amazing person ever chiarsccuro = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place near the pacific coastline disaster = a vague event that happened years ago, resulting in 8 different factions and the development of mana as a consequence of nuclear radiation dune = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as africa element mana = the element ur mana takes faction = similar to different countries in the world, these are the remaining places where civilization still exists after the disaster lanpool = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as the pacific islands in australia ledyanoy = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as siberia mana = similar to magic, this is a conduit for many things mesa = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as mexico ouroboros = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as poland / germany piqueo = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as the carribean / gulf of mexico snowmelt = one of the 8 factions, existing in a place once known as canada and northern parts of the united states
