Hello! This is my first time entering into a DTA contest, so this is new for me, but I'm excited to see how this goes! I did my best, and good luck to everyone. Please if there are questions, ask them! I’m open to all kinds of criticism too, because I do want to know what needs improvement. ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ↞⬧⬨⬧↠ Info ↞⬧⬨⬧↠ Name☼ Trinket Pronouns☼ She/They Species☼ Draconic Cat Age☼ 137 Yrs {about the same as someone in their 20s} Occupation☼ Wandering Merchant/Trader Hobbies☼ Travelling, collecting, trading/swapping items, climbing, drawing/sketching, inventing/building, talking to the birds Likes☼ Tart and salty foods, autumn, tall forests, cliffs, clear skies, sunrise/sunset + nighttime, magpies, the wind, small towns, pretty or interesting objects, being warm and dry, objects not dependent on magic Dislikes☼ Spicy food, spring, beaches, swamps, cloudy/wet weather, amphibians, water, harsh cold, large and busy cities, people who are pushy or overbearing, overuse of magic Goals☼ To find a way to fly Extra☼ Loves heights, aquaphobic, ranidaphobic/batrachophobic, ombrophobic, the joints of her back left leg ache before cold or rainy weather & get sore faster (they use wraps to help support it and keep it warmer), considers magic as a power too strong to be used regularly ‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿ ↞⬧⬨⬧↠ Backstory ↞⬧⬨⬧↠ Trinket was born alongside her three brothers in a small den, which their parents had carved out between the roots of a hickory tree. She spent the first ten years of her life learning how to walk and speak, play fighting with their brothers and frequently being caught wandering off. Trinket loved the birds, and always climbed trees and ran after flocks, trying to follow them. One spring, when she was about twenty nine, a torrential rain hit while Trinket was hunting with their father. The streams rose, the den flooded, and the dying hickory tree fell. With a sprained leg, they took shelter in a strong oak with her father. Over the next week, while everything drained and dried, Trinket and their father were able to find her mother and siblings, all with just a few minor scrapes and bruises. The family moved near the cliffs, making a new home in a cave. After this, Trinket began to fear the rain or any large bodies of water. They also became extra attached to any possessions she had, not wanting to risk losing anything. Throughout the next year, their family helped her to be a little less paranoid, though she still carries those fears to this day. Once they turned fifty, she set off on her own to explore and travel. Trinket found joy in creating things out of what they collect, and she goes from town to town selling and trading these creations. She soon got an idea to build wings for themself, still holding on to their dream of flying. Trinket poured herself into this goal, spending the next seventy nine years studying what they could on wing structure and function, planning and trying to craft models. One winter, when Trinket was 131, she found a magpie with a severely broken wing after a very windy storm. They calmed the poor thing down by giving him some of her travel snacks, and carefully carried him to the nearest village. She was able to convince the healer to help, and the magpie had part of his wing amputated. Trinket named the bird Cobalt. Feeling responsible for Cobalt, Trinket didn't want him to lose his flight permanently. They spent the next month adjusting a functioning model to fit and work as a prosthetic, and both her and Cobalt were overjoyed when he could fly again. The next six years the two grew close as friends, Cobalt acting as a scout and Trinket as the planner and protector. Though now, Cobalt is getting old... (TO BE CONTINUED IN A COMIC IF I WIN!)

If I don’t get them, then congrats to whoever does!
