Chapter 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have a plan in my head: I'm going to push Autumn and Draco together- literally and metaphorically. "Autumn," I say in the Great Hall, "What do you think about... Harry Potter?" She and Harry, Ron, and Hermione became friends, like, just last year. "Harry? He's sometimes nice, sometimes an idiot, and sometimes okay." Autumn replies, then shrugs. No feelings for him, I guess. "What about Ron?" Autumn frowns at me. "Why are you asking? You know how I feel about boys." Boys. A big thing, and yet a small one. A base for romance and trouble. Autumn snaps her fingers in front of my face, and I immediately recoil. "Audrey. Audrey, you in there?" "Hmm? Yes, I was just thinking... who's your dream crush?" "Finnick Odair," She replies with a smirk. I don't question her after that. Who the h3ll is Finnick Odair? Suddenly I hear someone furiously yelling, and the Slytherins are laughing. I frown. "I didn't realize that Harry and Ron came to Hogwarts in a flying car," Autumn says, frowning at Draco's smug sneer. Oh, gods. Boys, boys, boys. It's like they're trying to be the worst. Draco is being... well, Draco. "Well," I say matter-of-factly, "They are known to be pretty reckless." "There's a fine line between courage and stupidity. I think they just crossed it," Autumn replies, fighting a smile. I could tell her now. I could- "Ugh, Draco's being SUCH a jerk! He's always on the wrong side of the line." Oop, nevermind. Maybe I'll tell her later. In about twenty years. Assuming Draco won't k!ll me before I reach twenty more years. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "WHERE THE H3LL IS SHE?!" I scream at Draco. He had one job. One. Job. "I-I don't know!" "How hard is it to make sure no one disappears when you're asking someone out?!" "We were attacked!" I push the door open to Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and frown. The place is empty. No ghost, no Autumn. My eyes and nose start to burn. I run to the dorms, tears streaming down my cheek. Later, I decide to go down to the common room, when everyone's asleep. Draco comes to check on me. "Hey, look I'm sorry-" "Sorry?" I screech, "Sorry? Sorry doesn't cut it! She could be dead for all we know! What are you doing anyway? GO AWAY!" I throw a cushion at him. He dodges it, and says, "She's too stubborn to die." I laugh hysterically. "You're going to make a joke out of this? You're unbelievable. This was for Voldemort, wasn't it? No wonder your family are Death Eaters! No wonder-" "SHUT UP!"
Finnick Odair is from Catching Fire, and Mockingjay, both by Suzanne Collins. Sorry for the cliffhanger, and the short chapter. Life is life.
