My first animation, made in 4 days! (For science class) The rock cycle is one of - if not the - most essential systems on Earth. In a nutshell, it is the web of interactions between certain rock forms and the process by which they change from one form to another. It is what makes the soil and rock we stand on - the mineral and nutrient-packed basis for most plant life on Earth. It recycles old rock and brings new rock to the surface, maintaining a balanced crust and mantle. The rock cycle creates landscapes, islands, mountains, and so much more. DISCLAIMER: The rock cycle takes a few weeks to millions of years per step as opposed to the few seconds shown in the animation. Some unrealistic aspects have been added, such as the volcano, which in real life would NOT squish and deform before eruption. This has been added for the purpose of comedic effect.
