[ dynamics ] ▹ kindred spirits - two cats who's mindsets and hearts are similar meet one day and instantly realize that they are kindred spirits who are destined to be together, although whether as friends or lovers is yet to be seen. in this dynamic, rea would meet someone very similar to herself and the two form a close bond. for this, i'd prefer a cat around her own age who isn't toxic or manipulative, who shares a similar personality (note that this dynamic can be platonic or romantic ^^) ▹ sun & moon - polar opposites or perfect matches? with rea as the moon and your cat as the sun, these two are different and yet quite similar. one day, boreal meets a cat who's differences and similarities enchant her, and she finds herself falling in love. at first, she is oblivious to these feelings, as well as the feelings of the other, but over time she begins to realize that this is more than an ordinary friendship. summer and winter, day and night, however you want to phrase it, there's no denying that these two are quite different. and yet despite their differences, they share a strong bond. over time, they come to realize that they aren't all that different after all, and boreal rejoices at the fact that she has found someone who loves her for who she is. for this relationship, i'd prefer a cat who is a little different from rea, but isn't a complete opposite (this dynamic can also tie into the kindred spirits and storytelling duo dynamics ^^) ▹ bard & jester - with boreal as the bard and the other as the jester, these two make quite the team, telling stories, cracking jokes, singing songs and dancing to its melodies. i'd recommend a cat with a personality that would fit well for being a 'jester', who isn't too serious or uptight and doesn't mind goofing off [ someone has been selected for this dynamic ] ▹ daydreamer & tether - with boreal always lost in a fantasy world all her own, one would agree that she needs a guard, wouldn't you? a cat who can keep her tethered to reality and out of any harm that might befall her thanks to her disconnected nature. they would probably stick rather close to her most of the time, and she would rely on them to make sure that she doesn't lose herself in her own imagination ▹ fish inside a birdcage - based off the song fish inside a birdcage (go give it a listen, it's a great song), boreal takes the role of the brother and the other takes on the role of the fish. rea tells them stories and encourages them to seek their own future. for this i'd recommend a cat who is perhaps a bit younger than rea, who isn't very confident and is a little unsure of their place in the world. ▹ adventurer & tag-along - boreal may be a curious cat, but she's certainly not an adventurous one. this dynamic features boreal as the tag-along, with her often being dragged along on adventures that she isn't quite thrilled about. this dynamic can be a little more toxic, with the adventurer disregarding rea's hesitation at accompanying them on these excursions, or if that's not your jam, then it can be a good-humored clash of opposites in which the adventurer persuades boreal to accompany them and rea, although not exactly feeling excited, is still willing to accompany them [ someone has been selected for this dynamic ] ▹ star & moon - a more mentor-like relationship, in which boreal meets a cat who is a bit older than herself (could be an older apprentice or a warrior) who is rather similar to her, and the two form a special connection. with rea as the star and the other as the moon, boreal learns from them and often looks to them for advice ▹ storytelling duo - exactly what it says on the box, boreal meets someone who shares her love of stories and the two become close friends, trading stories and ideas back and forth. this dynamic could be part of the 'sun & moon' or 'kindred spirits' dynamic, or it could be a completely separate one :] ▹ sparrow & owl - one day, boreal encounters a cat that she might deem rather frightening and intimidating at first, but as she gets to know them better she comes to realize that her first impressions of them were incorrect, and that in reality they aren't as intimidating as she had originally thought. with boreal as the small and innocent sparrow and the other as the wise and perhaps slightly intimidating owl, these two become good friends and rea will often turn to them whenever she is unsure of something or is looking for advice. i'd recommend an older cat for the role of the owl, since this dynamic is meant to be a bit more mentor-like if none of these appeal to you, don't be afraid to offer your own idea for a dynamic with rea!! im always open for planning stuff out <3 ── ❝ the stars tell me such wonderful stories, and they can tell you tales too, if you're willing to listen ❞ ── ↬ [ credits ] ▹ boreal's design is by @kyuuminn ▹ art is by me ▹ song is solstice by emilie su ─────
