Welcome to Track Day: Apex, a realistic racing game. Contains: 2,000+ blocks, 31 sprites, 9 different cars, automatic and manual transmissions, and realistic physics! INSTRUCTIONS (please read, it's a complicated game) First, choose one transmission and one car (press space to switch cars). Once you are in the game, use the up arrow key to accelerate, left/right to turn, and the down arrow activates the brake. Your car has a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. If you choose a manual, use W to upshift and S to downshift. If shifting is too hard, you can choose automatic instead. Try to stay on the track, because the grass will slow you down. If you go far enough off of the track, you will invalidate your lap, making it not count towards your best lap and making the timer go red. There will be a ghost car recreating your best lap (not your last), try to beat it to set a new personal record. There is a minimap in the lower right corner with a red dot depicting where you are and a blue dot showing where the ghost car is. The lights next to your gear # will tell you when to upshift. When the 3rd light (the red one) lights up, it is a good idea to shift, as you will soon hit the redline. (only for manual) If you are turned downwards, the cluster will become a bit seethrough so you can see better. You can press "r" at any time to restart your lap. The cars are not meant to compete with each other in lap times, just to be different experiences. Cars (slowest to fastest): GR86: A fun little coupe with a tiny engine but nice handling. Elantra N: A medium size sedan capable of hustling through the twisty track. GR Supra: A well-rounded car. Good at everything, but not great at anything. Lotus Exige Cup 430: A Toyota-powered super light responsive little car, pretty fun to drive but not crazy fast. M5 CS: A big v8 powered sedan that can go pretty fast on a track. Corvette Z06: A v8 supercar with good downforce and lap times almost the same as the Mclaren. Artura: A hybrid supercar with crazy acceleration and top speed. GT3 RS: A track monster with a high-revving engine and fast high speed turning. Senna: One of the fastest cars on a racetrack out there, with lots of downforce and grip. #Cars #Racing
Thanks @Project_Vector, @SleepyDuck793, @xfirtin, and @XtremeRace_x3 for the car costumes. Thanks @Pikkewaan, they made some art and code for this game as well. I would really appreciate a ❤️ and ⭐ if you liked this game! THANKS SO MUCH FOR 1,000 VIEWS!!! (I never thought I would get this popular) LOGBOOK: 4/11/25: Released but still pretty beta, not finished. (1.0.0) 4/16/25: changed RPM on the tach, made everything smoother, added an invalid lap warning. (1.1.0) 4/18/25: Added a steering wheel, but may change the sprite later (its pretty bad) and when you turn, your speed decreases (by a tiny bit) (1.1.1) 4/19/25: Made the steering wheel like 10 times better now it looks and works better and fixed another glitch where if you turn you go backwards. (1.1.2) 4/20/25: Holy smokes I just did a lot of work (with the help and suggestions of @Pikkewaan) including fixing the track cutting off, fixing turning at low speed, and lots more! (1.2.0) 4/21/25: Thank you SO much @Pikkewaan for giving me the art it looks way better now! (1.3.0) 4/23/25: Added an optional automatic transmission, but it's a bit not well integrated so I will change it later (1.3.1) 4/23/25: Cleared a lot of code out and made some changes to the driving (1.3.2) 5/2/25: Shadows for the car! (1.3.3) 5/3/35: Changed the way turning works, it's a lot better now. 5/10/25: Holy smokes i did it i made a thumbnail... Its not perfect but its something so yeah. (1.5.0) 5/10/25: Added an intro sound yup and changed some stuff. (1.5.1) 5/11/25: Changed the way the automatic transmission works and switched the time that the lights come on a bit. (1.5.2) 5/17/25: Added a pan left/right effect to the sound and changed it. (1.5.3) 5/18/25: THERE ARE 2 CARS NOW YES it took a while but lets go! (1.6.0) its still a bit maybe glitchy tho. 5/18/25: Added the Mclaren Artura, with crazy fast straight line speed. Its also a hybrid. (1.6.1) 5/18/25: Added the Hyundai Elantra N, the first sedan in the game. (1.6.2) 5/18/25: Added the GR86, a fun little sports coupe. (1.6.3) 5/20/25: Added the M5 CS, a big sedan with fast lap times. (1.6.4) 5/20/25: Changed some stuff about the car chooser. (1.6.5) 5/20/25: Added some electric motor sound for all the evs (currently just the Artura) (1.6.6) 5/21/25: Changed the entire steering code to make the physics way more accurate. (1.7.0) 5/21/25: Added the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a track-focused supercar with an old-fashioned big v8. (1.7.1) 5/21/25: Added the Mclaren Senna, a VERY fast racecar for the road. (1.7.2) 5/23/25: Added a different track (you can't choose yet but I will add that option soon) (1.8.0) 5/26/25: Added different tire costumes for each car, so they fit better. (1.8.1) 5/26/25: Changed the track limits in the tight places to discourage cutting the corners too much. (1.8.2) 5/27/25: YES I DID IT I ADDED A GHOST CAR IM SO HAPPY THAT TOOK SO LONG (1.9.0) 5/27/25: Changed the code a bit and made it a bit less messy (and maybe decreased the lag)... Its kind of a bigger project now with all the updates tho (1.9.1) 6/15/25: Ok so I broke it and unshared it by accident but its back now (not very polished but it's ok for now) and I added some drifting (2.0.0) 6/22/25: I made the balance better and tuned the cars so they actually work better. (2.0.1) 6/22/25: I added a new thumbnail but it's a little bit rushed (2.0.2) 6/26/25: Redid the entire drifting and off-gas physics, now it is like 10 times better and way less glitchy (2.1.0) 6/26/25: Made the balance better (slightly) (2.1.1) 7/3/25: Here's a big update: I changed when drifting happens to when you power out of a corner too much. It is way more realistic (and I fixed the balance!) (2.2.0)
