The other g0ds had separated them for a reason. If the g0ds of day and night fell in l0ve, chaos would ensue. The relationship between time of day and the sky would be shattered. It would be better for everyone if Artemis and Helios went on ignorantly, not knowing each other existed. But...somehow they did meet. One day, Helios decided he would go down to Earth to party at a huge masquerade ball/festival thing. Coincidentally, Artemis is also there, mostly because people were selling old antique stuff, which she collected. She picked up an old silver pocket watch, just as another paw landed on a matching bronze one. They both looked at each other. It felt as if they had a connection. Could it be l0ve? Meanwhile, the other g0ds were panicking as they watched, except for the g0d of fate and g0ddess of love, who were trying not to smile. One day, about a year later, they met again. Thats when the world was covered in darkness. The light of the sun was completely blocked, and the king of the g0ds, Jupiter, had to intervene. He banished Helios and Artemis to opposite end of the sky. Even though there wasn't any hope, the couple still relentlessly searched for each other, circling around and around but to no avail.
