The elders of your village dislike adventuring, though, because they want complete control over the village, and they won't have that if an adventurer discovers a new place for villagers to go and live a new life free of the elder's dictatorship. An elder catches you and your best friend on an adventure to find a new place to live, and the elder's grand counsel decides to banish you and your friend to the Darklands: a land of eternal midnight. Your friend falls into the void, and you need to find him.
