Thicket looked out over the fields and hills, waiting for the king to ring the bells, waiting for him to tell the land that it was safe, that the night spirits had left until the next night, that he had captured the ones of half moon, but he couldn't hear the bell, in fact he could hear nothing. Was he still looking for one? It was past time that it should be safe from them. Night spirits as the king called them, were cats with dark fur and a celestial marking somewhere on their body; they had faded purple markings on their backs and a range of eye color but they were mostly dark so they wouldn't be seen at night. The king told them that they were monsters who would tear cats apart and destroy dens with their bare claws. Thicket watched from inside his den, worriedly. what was wrong? Then he heard a strange sound, a fawn maybe crying for help? Thicket caustically crept out of his den and looked around, following the sound he came to a bush where the sound was loudest; his fur bristled at the thought that night spirits could still be around, he lifted the branches of the bush to find something horrifying. A night spirit kitten. He was sure of it, the purply swirls on its back with its silky black fur and most of all the moons on the top of its long ears. Thicket's fur bristled 'Kill it' Thought the reasonable part of him, but as he reached his claws to finish it, the thing looked up at him with pleading eyes, and his claws froze and slowly crept back to the ground, this was no magic, he had spared it. Maybe if he raised it he could find valuable information for the king, they could use it for good to protect the kingdom. But it was still a kitten. Thicket looked at it carefully, it looked like a female "Eclipse"
