Diffusion Rate is a measure of how quickly heat fades. Higher numbers have heat spreading further. To prevent excessively high numbers, which would recycle colors, the total heat experienced by any one point is divided by the total number of points. However, this isn't perfect and should probably be improved... In this case the effective heat felt by any one point is H ~ 1/d^2, where d is the distance. Still a work in progress, other features imagined that probably will never be implemented given my history with finishing things, but... update 2019: UI destroyed by new visuals. thanks.
