AI generated images have been running rampant on the internet, and I truly do not understand why. As an artist, they're blatantly insulting the creativity, time and work we put into our art and copying off of people who genuinely want to create, only to make a cheap and plagarised low-quality image. As Studio Ghibli's creator puts it, an insult to life itself. Speaking of Studio Ghibli, recently there's been a craze of putting images through a filter to turn them into the iconic Ghibli art style, or simply generating images of that style. A trend that I would consider horrible, especially considering the stance of Hayao Miyazaki (a founder of the studio) on the matter. The art in the project is a picture of my OC, Vanessa, DRAWN by me in the Studio Ghibli art style. It took roughly between an hour and a half and two hours, and I'm pretty happy with it. There are mistakes - HUMAN mistakes - something that AI lacks. Of course, my art isn't perfect, but is it even possible? No. No, it isn't. Because art, unlike AI images, is created by humans, who evidently are not robots and do not create immaculate things. A key factor of art is the process: tricky, tiring, etc. And there are imperfections at the end. But that's fine, since we're human. Without the fact that somebody spent time and creativity making art, I just don't see a point in looking at it. It's not art. It's a disgrace. What do I have to say to AI "Artists"? The usual advice. Pick up a pencil. It's worth it. --- Art by me, in the style of Studio Ghibli Character is mine Song is Umbilical by Deco*27 from Milgram, vocals by Yuno Kashiki (CV: Yuuka Aisaka) Gotta love the contrast between the song and rant lolol
