Hello! Here's how you can make your HTML site accessible. This is part one of what will be a series. Gentle reminder; if you don't make your site accessible, that's ableism. Avoid discrimination by checking out this guide before publishing your website! First of all, USE ALT TEXT! When you add an image, use alt text! This makes your site accessible to people who are blind, with vision impairments, and those who use screen readers for whatever reason. It's super simple and easy. Just do this: You may think "Blind people can't picture images in their heads! This isn't necessary." That isn't true. That doesn't matter. Alt text also helps people who can see but not very well. Alt text is extremely helpful to many people. Also, if an image is purely decorative and isn't important, make sure screen readers don't read it out loud with this: Thank you for taking the time to look over this! Please use this when making websites to make your site more accessible!
