1. Q: What got you interested in writing? A: haha, i was probly 5 or 6 when we read a book about a bird learning to fly. i went home and wrote my own version but it was literally the exact same so it was more like a brief summary lol 2. Q: Did you always like writing? A. YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES ALWAYS!!! i think it stems from my love of reading (i started reading when i was 2!) 3: Q: What is the story that has just been sitting around in your brain, waiting to come to life? Is it just a vague idea that catches your heart, or is it already an elaborate story? A: ahhhhh i sosososo want to do a faerie-inspired story like the folk of the air but haven't gotten around to it yet ughhhh the main character's name would be seren though that is for certain 4. Q: What makes a story catch your heart? A: it's gotta be the romance for me! all my favorite books have romance in them - jane eyre, the silence of the lambs (at least i think so), great expectations, the alienist...romance is what makes or breaks it for me! that is, i am fine with no romance, but if there is any it has to be goooooood haha 5. Q: Do you think that there's a pattern that all good stories follow, or are they all different? A. ofc there's the classic hero's journey, but i think no story is the same! 6. Q: Did you ever cry over your own writing? Laugh over it? Shiver over it? A: hahahah yes especially when writing romance. sometimes i kick my feet lol 7. Q: What do you despise in stories? A: i gotta say typos. i am the typo finding EXPERT and yes i know typos happen, but sometimes i have to ask how???? i mean these people have editors, proofreaders, whatever. how do they miss those??? agh 8. Q: What makes a story bad (in your opinion)? A: focusing too much on either what's going on or what a character is thinking while neglecting the other. good stories need a balance! too much action can be overwhelming and/or confusing, but only focusing on a character's thoughts and feelings gets boring fast. (imo) 9. Q: Which is more important in a story: emotional depth, or an interesting plot? A: imo, they are both essential to make a good story. i personally don't find plots interesting if they don't have any emotional depth, and vice versa i believe emotional depth is best displayed in interesting events 10. Q: Is there a specific thing your stories tend to center around? (Ex: setting, personality of character, genre, ect.) A. i have a deep love of cool brunette girls falling in love with funny blonde guys. maybe because i would like to be the brunette girl (and i am EXCEPT those boys tend to not love me back T-T) 11. Q: Do you plan to become an author someday? A: yes. ever since i was 5 ive known haha 12. Q: If so, how do you think authors can influence the world for good by their writing? A. authors have the power of saying whatever they want. you can publish persuasive pieces anonymously! words are powerful. 13. Q: What are your favorite themes (morals or messages) in stories? A: i ADORE villain redemption arc AND hero corruption arc 14. Q: What are the cliches you hate the most? A: "oNe BeD" and fake dating 15. Q: Is there a way to make those cliches not so bad? Do you think you could do it if you set out to try? A: i like to think i can do whatever i set my mind to, but idk if i could make myself like those tropes haha 16. Q: What is the genre you hate the most? A: realistic fiction (yes) 17. Q: What if you tried to write it? What would happen? A: i like to think it would be amazing and beautiful lol, but i would probably end up transforming it into something i usually love lol 18. Q: What makes a character lovable? A: their mistakes!!!! 19. Q: Is it possible for a non-lovable character to make you care deeply about them? A: i think so :) 20. Q: How can you make your story touch your reader and impact their life? A: imo, it's all about the first and last lines. the first line has GOT to draw the reader in so they can get to the last line. the final thought has to be the most powerful, so it replays over and over in the reader's mind, making them think WHAt the HECK was THAT lol --mars x
