The only thing she didn’t like was her queen, Gemma. She had already exiled 5 people this month, and 3 of them were her own sons. The other two... She missed her parents. They didn’t even deserve it! All they did was stand up for the people who were banished for no reason. “You’ll never be a good queen if you keep being so strict like this,” Her mother had said. “Even if you make us leave too, we don’t care. We’ll keep trying,” said her father. She was proud of her parents, even though they failed. She wanted to be just like them...well, without leaving the kingdom. There had to be a way to stop Gemma, right? “That’s Queen Gemma to you,” the ruler would say. “Get used to saying it, otherwise you’ll end up like your parents.” Did she want to end up like them? No, but did she want to try to fight against her queen? Yes. “Only if you could without being exiled,” Leah said. She was her caretaker, ever since her parents left. She was the leader of a secret group called “The Emerald Exiles”. They were exiled from the Emerald Kingdom and were trying to banish Gemma from the kingdom and get a better queen, but that was never going to happen. Gemma was too powerful, and if she knew, she wouldn’t exile them, she would kill them for everything they’ve done. Whenever Monda would leave for school Leah whispered, “Don’t tell anyone about us.” All she ever wished for was a new queen. Every time she entered the Diamond Castle, Gemma would call her a pheasant. That was who she was. A truthful, vengeful pheasant with no parents. Just Leah.
