Drag the Scale slider to zoom in and out Drag the simulation speed slider to see the planets orbit the sun faster or slower. Includes all eight planets from Mercury to Neptune The physics are accurate to an extent. It uses the physics equation for orbit velocity (see Notes and Credits) though do note that the sizes, orbit widths, and masses are not accurate or to scale in any way... though this might be fixed in a future update! Future Updates will include: - Adding trails to show the past positions of objects - Adding moons to orbit the planets (Will only add Luna for the Earth, Phobos and Deimos for Mars, and the Galilean moons for Jupiter, since there are hundreds of moons in our solar system!) - Scrolling feature in order to see individual planets and moons more closely - Accurate scaling of planet radii, distances from the sun, and masses.
Me for both the code and background. All planets are drawn by the pen I used my knowledge from algebra and physics to program the rotation and gravitational attraction scripts for this project. Gravity scripts only relate each individual planet's mass to the sun and does not factor in the mass and positions of other planets when calculating the velocity of each planet at a time. This is done to avoid the insane calculus used to solve the "Three Body Problem", or in this case the Nine Body Problem. #pen #space #solarsystem #simulators #physics © 2025 Black Labrador Retriever Games inc.
