Spirit, one of my characters from "The Cursed Ones" roleplay.I did some traditional art of her during class, because the roleplay we had helped me flesh her out a lot and now I am in love with her story and personality. Also, Spirit lore dump below : (Contains cringey romance writing, forgive me, but I realized I could have romance in stories as a plot device and now I am here for it...) Spirit(was known as Esphera at the time, named after their wing leader) was born in the war between SnowFeathers(her own species) and AngelFeathers.Her parents never had any time to care for her, so she was neglected as a dragonet, which explains why she is so scrawny and underweight compared to the rest of her species.Spirit was used as a killing machine from the moment she turned 6(About 9 for humans.The Vieran SnowFeather armies are pretty messed up, with lower ranked dragons either parcitipating in battles for money or being forced into joining the army regardless of age)with the force of her wing(small group of armies are called wings)She spent her entire life battling dragons and killing them, to the point where she was nothing but a brainwashed killing machine.That was until she met Shattered/Gemstone, an AngelFeather soldier who helped her regain control over her mind again.But it didn't last long.Spirit's priority was war, not friendship, so she pushed Gemstone away at every chance she could.She regretted every single moment of it, but she didn't cared.Spirit psuhed away everybody, until there was nobody around her.She was used to being a nobody, and was simply too terrified of the change.She was in a cage, a cage where she was a brainwashed monster.She liked her cage, but was also aware that it would eventually be her downfall at some point.This was when she met Soar too.He had it so much better than her.He had a sanity, people he loved, was in a better status at the military than she was and had no cage around him.Without even realizing, the two got closer each passing day, and sometimes Gemstone would even join in too.Spirit took her time, and was hostile to the others around her at first.She was just too blind to realize everything, but her brutality was stopping her from a much brighter future she could have had.She never realized it, but she and Soar were slowly starting to like each other.Soar was concerned about Spirit, and would do anything to make her feel better.But, Spirit was never one he could trust, therefore she did commit mass murder on his kin, and was probably a trickster just like the rest of SnowFeathers.He had a hard time, but Soar tried his best to let go of his feelings for Spirit.The two had a hard time, but the spark of hope was eventually extinguished forcefully for both of them.Both were soldiers of neverending wars, and both never knew what to do other than killing and battling.Eventually, Spirit died, and all the hope Soar ever had for a bright future ended.
