[click for foal pics] California Zinger, aka Zara, is now officially retired from being a broodmare! As soon as her newest (and last) filly is weaned, she will spend the rest of her life out at pasture. So, welcome to the world Fly To California, aka California aka Cali! California (or just Cali) is out of my broodmare Zara and by the stud Kestrel. Interesting backstory - I bred Zara to Kestrel when he was still owned by Shroom, who later sold him to Ghost, who just recently gave him to me! So, as luck would have it, Cali will get to meet her dad (in a future project)! Cali is brand new and is already making a splash at the barn. I just recently turned her out in a pasture to play with a couple of our yearlings, Duke and Finch, and she was a hit! They both loved her, though it was Duke and Cali that were running around and playing crazily. Finch prefers to stand quietly and watch! Cali has proven to be a very sweet little filly, full of spunk and energy - and way too curious for her own good! I am SO excited for this little girl's future.
