Designed for use with a Makey Makey, this Scratch program will simply time your cars from start to finish. We also use this in our PD sessions to teach teachers how to use Makey Makey and think about the different ways that the gates can be constructed. This is to be used in conjunction with our K-2 Data Analysis lesson, which measures the speed of two vehicles and compares the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicles performance. Hook your Makey Makey up as follows: Time Start- Space Bar (and earth) Time End- Up Arrow (and earth) You'll have to build switches at each point you want to start and end the timer. Some Hot-wheels tracks have great contact switches and you can just add copper tape to these for your switch. A full tutorial and the base scratch program is available at MakeyMakey.com.
