(I made this for fun, I actually don't know Clover's opinion on either text based programming or the Godot engine itself) (Also either mash the green flag or use TurboWarp for good audio sync) rip audio quality consistency Sup! I was a scratch user back in late 2017 to mid 2018, but I decided to come back (at least for a bit) to mess about as well as to maintain my old projects :) While I dipped, I made some gam- experiences on Roblox, which has taught me quite a lot about the basics of game development and programming. (In fact, that's where I got my off Scratch username, popsicle_guy since I wanted to change my username to banana_chips, but it was already taken and it happened before display names were a thing) However with Roblox being Roblox, I decided that I should use a standalone game engine and amid the Unity game install crisis, I picked Godot as it didn't eat up my storage and was completely free. I also found out that I could make homebrew PS Vita and Nintendo Switch games using 2 specific builds of Godot 3.5, so that's what I use to make games as of now. Despite the engine's drawbacks as well as the Godot Foundations' dodgy practices (*cough* W4 Games *cough*), I would recommend trying Godot as it's very fun to use and the scripting language is quite simple.
