[ Dear boy ] The crimson pool of the deputy soaked the ground. Standing with a shaky stance her breath heavy. Her emerald eyes flickered with pain and anger. [ Tell me where you're running off to now, boy ] Staring the cat that had just so ruthlessly cvt her open run off. Her body slumped to the ground, landing in the crimson pool. Her eyes filled with tears. But not from the pain... [ Who will be the one to break your fall, boy? ] Thinking of her kits. Her mate.. Her friends... [ Dear boy ] "I'm sorry.." She began but coughed. "I couldn't win." [ Forget all closure and start hiding now, boy ] "I'm sorry.. My children" Her hearing faded slowly as the muffled hisses and shouts from her clanmates fighting slipped into white-noise. "Mom can't be there to cheer your warrior name.." [ 'Cause it's about time that they hunt you down, boy ] "I'm sorry my beloved.. mate.." Her voice cracked as she huffed for air, her tears running down her face as she looked around for her mate but saw him fighting. "I can't be there to warm you tonight..." [ Say goodbye to all the others ] "I'm.. so-rry, my friends." Her eyes began to grow foggy, distant as she hung on to the thread of life, her voice caught as her breathing hitched. "I can..-t. be there.. to hold.. you up." [ Call it close and crunch the numbers ] Her sight grew dark.. Her heart beat grew soft.. Her mind slowed. Peace. A odd feeling of peace. Washed over her... [ Wash your hands and wash your feet ] Her blue flower caught in the wind. The breeze carried it upward like her spirit. It traveled the lands. [ Walk on water ] The petals tore off one by one. One landing by the nursery, where her life began with meeting her best friend and now mate, where Flightfur taught her to make flower crowns and never do violence. One landing by the apprentice den, where her training took off, where she explored the territories, caught prey, trained to fight, learned the ways of the clan. One landing by the warriors den, where her life took off like a rocket for the stars, when she had her kits, where she learned l0ve, d34th, and to protect her clan. One landing by the leader's den, where she was told she was deputy, where she took charge, where she learned how to be a helper, a protector, a defender. [ Find me someone to blame ] The last petal fluttered down to the ground. On the river of Flurry. Where it traveled down. [ Find me somewhere to aim ] Breaking way to the ocean where she sailed forever. [ And I don't know no right or wrong ] The sun rose the next day on the bl00d coated battle field. The body of the beloved deputy laid. Peaceful. At rest. Where she belonged... [ A melody without a song ] In the stars. [ Show me the truth inside ]
