hi guys!! omg it feels like it has been so long! i've had a pretty busy month so far, so i'd love to tell you all about it, but most importantly talk about something thats been on my mind a lot for the past few months regarding TOTT... first and foremost, i would like to apologize for being fairly inactive recently! i actually took a trip to disney with my best friend at the beginning of the month which was SO MUCH FUN AHHHH and i really enjoyed that! then i just got back from my high school's spring break, where i visited and toured a couple colleges and also visited with some family i don't get to see often! all in all, super fun, but very busy! i also realized that i don't think i ever really acknowledged this on my profile, but i'd like to thank everyone who voted for the scratchmmys (i know that was such a long time ago lol) but i never said thank you, and i am so honored to have won the awards i won! thanks everyone! also, thank you guys for ALMOST 3000 followers! as i'm writing this i think i'm at about 2997 or something like that so we are CRAZY close and this is absolutely insane! thanks so much for everyone who has helped get me here, and let me know if you have any fun ideas for things i could do to celebrate 3000 followers! i have a few ideas, but i'd love to see what you come up with as well! now, the reason you are probably all here... we need to talk about talk of the town. i don't really know how to get into it, so i'm just going to start at the beginning. i wrote the entire talk of the town album in 2024, from may 4th to may 16th, literally less than 2 weeks! i've mentioned many many times how each song on the album represents a character, and i had already had the stories of each of the characters way before the songs were even written. i announced TOTT in july and then released the album on september 20th of 2024, which was all amazing! i eventually talked more about the specific stories of all the characters and i released SOME of the instrumentals on my other account lol. however, since all this has been happening, i've sort of been searching for some sort of closure for the end of the TOTT era. i know i did release the christmas cheer ep like 2 months after TOTT, but to me i still feel like i haven't fully moved on from my first album. after the album had been released for a little while, i decided that i wanted to start working on a deluxe version of talk of the town! i probably started thinking about this around october, but i definitely hit a wall. i won't lie, i've been incredibly distracted from music the first few months of 2025 and its been hard to find both the time and the motivation to write new songs, so i just kept pushing back the goal date of when i wanted this to release. the more i've been thinking about it, as much as i want to release a deluxe to the album, if i'm being completely honest, something about it feels disingenuine. like i mentioned, i already had the stories for the original 10 girls, so to completely invent four or five more just to create more content didn't feel honest or genuine or right to me. luckily for you guys, throughout the process of me figuring out what i wanted to do with this album, i DID actually write rough drafts of two songs that would have been on the TOTT deluxe! while i won't be creating an official deluxe or releasing the songs on streaming, i think i will share the voice memos of these two songs on scratch, especially because i don't think i'd want to attatch these songs to another project or another album because they aren't about my own life! i really hate to make you guys wait so long, but i think, just for the meaning and sentimental value, i am going to plan on releasing both songs on scratch on may 4th, which is the one year anniversary of me starting to write TOTT (and the day that minnie, rosie, daisy, and the second half of heather was written!) i hope you can forgive me for making you wait so long lolll but i hope you enjoy them when i share them! also, do you think i should announce the names ahead of time, or should i wait to share the names with the songs like i did the first time??? now, you're probably wondering, what's coming next from me? i definitely have some ideas, two very big ideas in particular ;P i don't exactly know the specifics or the order or release dates of these ideas, but, definitely continue the theories! i have seen lots of speculation, some incorrect, but some correct! i love to keep you guys guessing xD as usual, thanks so much for reading all this! i will try to share some song covers for you all in the mean time! i have a few ones in mind that i want to try and i have a few old covers that i'd love to share (and a few disney covers from before my trip lol!) i'll talk to you all soon!
