STORY: Appledusk meet at a gathering and become mates, and Mapleshade is expecting his kits. She keeps working despite queens needing to move into the nursery, and she didn't tell anyone about her expecting kits. Mapleshade runs away from ThunderClan before she can have her kits, hiding under a well-hidden fallen tree trunk. She has her kits, and stays with them for a day before going hunting. ThunderClan picks up her kit's scents, but decides not to explore it this time. Mapleshade comes back with a squirrel and feeds her kits, repeating the cycle for a moon. The last time she goes hunting for her kits, A ThunderClan patrol sneaks into the tree trunk and snatches the kits, haring back to the camp. Oakstar decides to give them to RiverClan, and tells Ravenwing and Frecklewish to deliver the kits to their neighboring clan, in desprate attempt to make an alliance with them. When near the river, Mapleshade spots them and hisses at them, attacking them. Frecklewish and Ravenwing lose grip of the kits, sending them rolling into the river. Mapleshade panics and jumps in after them, but she can't find them anywhere. Ravenwing guides Frecklewish back to the camp secretly. Mapleshade climbs out of the river, seeing the two cats gone, and is thrown into a fit of rage. A dark forest spirit whispers in her ear to go after them, to make them pay, to make the whole of ThunderClan pay. Mapleshade does as she is told, going for Ravenwing fist. When Ravenwing is back towards the river, she sneaks up on him, tackling him into the river and pushing him down, so he can't breathe. Ravenwing eventually goes limp, and Mapleshade is satisfied that the way he died is the way her kits died. Mapleshade swims back to the surface, climbing a tree before a patrol reaches where Ravenwing is. The patrol is horrified that Ravenwing is gone, and yowls for help. A RiverClan patrol sees what is happening, but doesn't help, turning away. After a day or two, Mapleshade lures Frecklewish to the river with a mouse, and pushes her into the river, watching her struggle to stay above. Frecklewish drowns, and isn't found, assuming to have ran away. Mapleshade decides to meet with the dark forest cat again, and finds out there is still one more cat left to k!ll, not Appledusk, but Oakstar. She finds the task difficult, but instead of getting him alone near the river, she decides to k!ll him in his sleep. She sneaks into camp at night, K!lling the guards, before slipping in and searching for the Leader's Den. Oakstar is asleep inside, curled up. Mapleshade accidentally steps on a twig, alerting Beetail. Beetail seems overjoyed that Mapleshade had returned, going to greet her, but Mapleshade only slashes his throat, making him let out a yowl, which wakes the clan. Mapleshade runs inside the leader's den, using the K!lling bite on Oakstar quickly, but she wasn't too quick to dodge Nettlepaw's attack after she had drained Oakstar's last life.
