Dreams Chapter 14

Chapter 14 <><><><><><> After school the next day, I run from the library to my dorm to put on some muggle clothes. I throw on a hand-me-down pink hoodie from Hermione on top of my normal white shirt, and put on some black leggings and some white earmuffs, since it's getting colder. Then, I go to the meeting corridor. There, I see my twin wearing a red jacket on top of her normal white shirt, jeans, and her white earmuffs, matching with mine. Then Emily and Havi come over, Emily wearing a black hoodie and school uniform pants, and Havi with a blue jacket, black pants, and a blue and gold hat that almost falls over her eyes. “Hey guys.” I say, waving. “Hey, ready?” Havi asks the rest of us and we nod, then joining the rest of our classmates to Hogsmeade. <><><><><> When we get to Hogsmeade, we decide to mess around a bit and we go to a sweet shop. My eyes widen behind their glasses at all the candy, and I can feel Bella's excitement. We squeal softly to each other. Since our parents are dentists, and pretty much hate us, we've never really had candy before. Me and Bella buy a bag of candy each, the two of us grinning wildly as if we just got the best present ever. Emily looks at us weirdly, but I don't care. Then, we decided to go get fitted for our dresses, Havi being the most excited for some reason. So we went to Madame Malkin's. A young witch comes over to the four of us, “Oh hello! Are you four here for the Yule Ball?” We all nod. She grins, and leads us to spots to get fitted. We each go into a different stall thingy. The walls in mine were white, with various measuring tapes and fabrics. My eyes light up. (Imagine how much I could do with all that stuff!) I know how to sew and I've made clothes for my sisters, but with all this fabric… Then a different witch, with blond hair tied back, peach skin, and purple eyes comes in, making a bit of a clatter. I turn around to look at her. “Oh sorry,” she says in a light voice, “just a bit clumsy today!” “No worries,” I say, “happens to me all the time.” She grins and surveys me, walking around in circles. “So what were you thinking about your dress? What colors?” I grin, thinking of my absolute favorite color, lavender. “Well, what if we make a lavender, purple dress? I want it to be very flowy, but with not too many layers, I get hot easily. What about this fabric?” I ask, pointing to a fabric that looks like a very light tint of purple. The witch nods, “that's a very good idea, but what about this one?”she says, pulling another piece of fabric off a rack. I nod and we talk fashion for a bit. <><><><> Afterwards, I have a dress! She leads me to a mirror in the stall and I notice a faint cinnamon smell. I stare to myself in the mirror. “Oh.. My.. G0sh!” I squeal, running my hands up and down the skirt, making sure it's real. (Either of the boys would be lucky to have me.) [It's all lavender, with hints of yellow accents here and there. There's so many ruffles, which makes it flowy, but it's not too hot. There's a bow around my waist, and the top… off the shoulder lavender sleeves with gold accents, a sweetheart cut as the collar.] “So… You like it?” The lady asks me. “I… Love it. Thank you so much!” I reply. She nods, and I take off the dress and quickly put back on my normal clothes. She takes the dress and folds it,then putting it into a bag. As soon as my hoodie is on, she gives the bag to me, and I walk out, adjusting my glasses. I meet up with Havi at the front counter. “Hi Havs.” “Hey Jacks.” We grin at each other and at that moment, Emily and Bella come out. Emily's hair is a bit insane and I giggle. “What?” She asks me and I walk over to her. “Oh… Nothing. Hold on.” I say, trying to make her hair not look like a porcupine. Bella giggles at my pathetic attempts. I finally fix it and then we all pay for our dresses. We walk out afterwards, chatting. Then, Matt almost runs into us and Emily blushes. Hard.
