yall asked for it. here is the cringe romance story abt dragons I wrote when I was 9. I'm prolly gonna regret this also no using for blackmail pls Am I a bad… The answer is yes, because I can't even tell what I am. Am I a dragon? A cat? An angel? I can hear Splotch here saying, "It doesn't matter what you are, Elegrance, you're still nice," or something like that. Problem is, I ain't nice. I'm too shy to thank anybody and too outspoken to let anyone talk to me. I think I'm cursed. Splotch says that he's cursed, but it's not true, he's perfect. I'm the cursed one. I've got four wings, and you'd think that that'd make me better at flying, but it doesn't- each is too small to do anything alone, and the wind escapes in between them when I'm trying to stop. My ears are a weird shape, unlike anything I've ever seen before. My legs and tail are too thin and my snout is too thick. Not even Francis is as weird as me, and she walks on two legs and has a weird contraption called a "camera". Splotch walks by. I would have told him everything but that would make me seem weak, and I don't want to seem weak in front of him. I watch him walking. He looks so confident, his many teeth glistening as he smiles comfortably. I wonder why he's always smiling. He looks creepy when he does it, but he still looks handsome. I wish he'd pay attention to me, but he's walking over to the hunting forest. Since the forest isn't very far, proper dragons can walk there very easily. I don't think I can, because my stupid legs are too thin and my fur gets muddy easily. I shouldn't care about mud, but I can't help it. It goes in my fur and, although I usually don't mind a little bit, it's very uncomfortable. Splotch is still ignoring me. He enters the hunting forest. The thing that always happens when I see Splotch is happening again- I'm forgetting what I should do with my life other than look at Splotch. I shake myself free of the sensation and jump into the air. I fly, as I often do, back to the mountain where I was born. The wind is strong but I push against it. I land there and look out at the horizon. Far below me, I see a few dragons milling about under the morning sun, and I see the hunting forest, and I see the little village, and I see the lake, and I see Splotch, emerging from the hunting forest, hard to see because of the distance but obviously him. I start walking forward to see him better… and the ledge I am on starts to crack. The next thing I know, the wind is extremely loud, and my wings are failing because the wind goes in between them, and I manage to level myself out but my wing clips the edge of the mountain, and the jagged rocks rip through the soft feathers… The wind forces me to close my eyes, and I feel dizzy as I think of the ground coming quickly closer. I open my eyes for a moment, and the ground is a millisecond away- I hear something fly up, and I hear something fly up towards me, and my fall is softened by cold-blooded arms grabbing me- And there is Splotch, smiling as usual, but this smile was genuine, not smug. "Elegrance, why'd you do that? We all know that I hate having to drop freshly hunted prey to save falling angels…" I am blushing. I hope he's actually flirting and not just pretending, because I like him too. *** Today I'm going to see Francis. Xey're also some unidentifiable species with weird ears- not as weird as me, but still. I started flying in the early morning. Now I'm over the ocean- nearly there. I see Splotch flying in somewhat the same direction as me. Quite a coincidence. I wave, and Splotch waves back. I see the mainland, and on the coast I see Francis. She's got her camera out and takes a picture of me. I glide down and meet her. "Hello, Elegrance!" she says, camera clicking. "Hi, Francis! What's up?" Francis is the only… creature that I feel comfortable being myself around. While Francis welcomes me to the mainland I realize that Splotch is nowhere to be seen. Oh well. I came here to get a vacation from crushes. "So, Elegrance, what's life like in Nakturnalia?" "It's fine!" Then I lean in and whisper, "I've got a crush." Francis giggled. "Same!" "Who's yours?" "He's another bipedal animal, and his name is Gladiator. He has an adorable husky, and he's just handsome! Who's your crush?" "This dragon called Splotch. I saw him flying over here. If you see a slightly creepy pale white dragon with lots of scars and a black splotch over his eye, that's him." "Cool!" Francis led me into her hut. It was handmade by xem out of the wood near the beach. "I wish I had a beach house," I says. "Lol." She literally says "lol". I suppose the internet got to xem. Whenever I go to Francis's hut, I stay for a few days. Francis had already arranged a mattress on the floor. On the table there are some exotic fruit and a drawing of a tree. Me and Francis have fun, play cards, go swimming in the ocean outside. I haven't had this much fun since the last time I'd been here. cont
continued Now, we're playing tag in the ocean, and I'm having a lot of fun, and Francis says that xey need to go pick more fruit. She asks if I'd be bored here alone, and I say that I'm fine. She wades out of the pool to find some fruit. I'm alone now. I have fun in the ocean but eventually get bored and just float there. Suddenly I see a flash of white in the trees, and Splotch is here. "Splotch? What are you doing here?" I ask him. He shrugs. "I felt like coming to the mainland today. What are YOU doing here?" I shrug back. For some reason, I'm starting to feel slightly defensive. "I'm here to see my friend Francis," I say. Splotch seems deep in thought for a moment, and then he turns to leave. "See you," he says over his shoulder. I frown slightly. Something weird is happening. But soon I forget about it.
