Many people dream their lives away, wishing they could make something and be successful. They dream and never do, hope and never get anywhere. They want to create but have no means. But there is actually a simple answer to the question, "Is there an engine that anyone can use?" The simple answer is: Scratch. Scratch is the greatest game engine for people of all ages to start programming. And all you need to do is find it. It will introduce you to the greatest visual programming language and greatest community on Earth. Scratch is simple, has a community of millions of people ages eight and up, and is a free, safe place to start creating, no matter who you are. With Scratch, you can make just about anything happen, whether that is to make a platformer game, animate your username, animate anything, or create a story. If you can make it in a 2D engine, it is possible. The only limits are the size of the stage, the blocks you have to build with, and your vision. Scratch also has a huge community of 130 million people, with over 1.4 million active project creators and 625,000 active comment posters. I have been using Scratch for over 3 years, and I still find new people every day! While online arguments are never pleasant, the Scratch moderators do their best to ensure that the chat remains free from cursing, slurs, and derogatory insults. If you think something violates the community guidelines, you can always press the report button to flag it as out of keeping. That said, a substantial amount of projects have been wrongly flagged or even mass-reported for no clear reason. Ensure that before you report something, you check the community guidelines to see if it is actually fine. Things like realistic blood, cursing, gore, and realistic violence are not allowed. The site allows things like a sword-fighting game, a top-down shooter, cartoon violence, and words like 'heck'. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CONDITIONS, REPORT CARTOON VIOLENCE. Cartoon violence, such as a battle animation, is allowed, unless its purpose is to promote violence. Scratch is a friendly place for people of all ages. People of all ages have freedom of what they create. Let them create what they want, so long as it is not harmful. I cannot stress this point enough. Too many projects have been taken down, and too many innocent people have gotten banned because of mass-reporters. Do not report someone if they are not going directly against the community guidelines. The only things that need to be avoided are topics that are not appropriate for children 8 years and up. The last point is the best point thus far. You do not have to be a minor to use Scratch. People of any age can use Scratch and enjoy it. The most popular Scratcher, with over 600,000 followers, is over 45 years old. You can make it simple to use if you want to, and you can make it complicated to use if you want to. If you want to make a highly complex, MMORPG, with complete lore, 100s of players, and complex mechanics, you can do that. Or, if you want to make a cute cookie clicker, you can do that too. Scratch is limitless, and that means it is what you want it to be. So stop dreaming. Stop wasting your earliest years procrastinating. Try out Scratch, make a free account, follow others, and build your dream project. Learn logic, practice coding, and remember that in Scratch, your only goal is to imagine, create, and share. Imagine and build; recreate Minecraft if you want to. Do anything. Make anything. The only limit is your imagination, in this superb beginner game engine. Scratch on, everyone.
